A valve with relatively reduced tank penetration is useful for cleaning at least a portion of a filter unit, such as multiple filter bags, arranged in a filter installation for filtering polluted gas passed therethrough. This valve is preferably a relatively high performance pulse valve of relatively small pressure vessel penetration cross section area useful with relatively lower cost pressure vessels.

Pulse valves and methods of using pulse valves are provided. The pulse valves include a dampening mechanism to decrease mechanical stresses, decrease operating noise, decrease compressed air waste and increase operational life expectancy. Such dampening mechanism is arranged within an internal area of the pulse valve housing. Additionally, fluid within the internal area of the pulse valve provides cushioning effects during operation of the pulse valve.

A fabric filter including a hollow elongated upper section having a fabric sleeve with a cross sectional shape which is circular, oval or rectangular; a hollow elongated lower section including a fabric sleeve having pleats extending along a length of the lower section and a bottom of the lower section is covered, wherein an internal cross sectional area of the lower section is smaller than an internal cross sectional area of the upper section, wherein while joined the upper section and the lower section define a chamber within the fabric sleeves extending the lengths of the upper section and the lower section and the chamber is open at an upper end of the upper section.

The invention refers to an arrangement of a valve and a pressure vessel. The valve has a housing with at least an opening, a plunger slideably positioned in the housing, a control mechanism to cause plunger movement. The pressure vessel has an exterior surface with at least an opening. The valve is connected to the at least an opening of the pressure vessel. The plunger has at least a first part with a larger size and a second part with a smaller size. The first part of the plunger is positioned outside of the pressure vessel in all valve configurations.

A relatively quiet pulse valve and a method of using the pulse valve are provided. The pulse valve includes a dampening mechanism to decrease mechanical stresses, decrease operating noise, decrease compressed air waste and increase operational life expectancy of the valve. Such dampening mechanism is arranged within an internal area of the pulse valve housing.

A primary filter cage wall element is adapted to form, together with at least one complementary filter cage wall element, a tubular baghouse filter cage segment. The filter cage wall elements are provided with snap-locks, for snapping a first long side of the primary filter cage wall element to a second long side of the complementary filter cage wall element, and for snapping a second long side of the primary filter cage wall element to a first long side of the complementary filter cage wall element.

An air quality control system (AQCS) useful for treating flue gas, such as flue gas produced by a fossil fuel fired boiler, is described. In addition to flue gas treatment, the AQCS provides for air preheater flue gas outlet flue gas temperature reduction and air preheater corrosion prevention while reducing capital costs, increasing reliability and increasing operating flexibility with regard to fuel selection.

A system is provided for removing particulate matter from a particulate collection device utilized to collect particulate matter from a flue gas stream. The system includes a pressure vessel for storing a pressurized gaseous medium in an interior area defined by the pressure vessel. A first pressure sensor is in communication with the interior area and configured to measure pressure therein. A particulate collection device for collecting particulate matter from a flue gas stream includes a conduit in communication with the pressure vessel. A valve is disposed in the conduit and adapted to open to release a pulse of the pressurized gaseous medium from the pressure vessel into the particulate collection device. A control system is in communication with the valve and the first pressure sensor, and includes a controller configured to operate the valve based upon at least one pressure measurement received from the first pressure sensor.

A method for reducing mercury emission and/or re-emission in cleaned flue gas through control of sulfite concentration within a wet flue gas desulfurization (WFGD) system is disclosed. One method for reducing mercury emission and/or re-emission through control of sulfite concentration is to measure the sulfite concentration of an aqueous alkaline slurry used in a WFGD system and comparing the same to a predetermined sulfite concentration value. If the comparison reveals the measured sulfite concentration is above the predetermined values, the amount of oxidation air supplied to the system is increased. If the comparison reveals the measured sulfite concentration is below the predetermined values, the amount of oxidation air supplied to the system is decreased.
