A device for separation of fluid, in particular oil, gas and water, in connection with the extraction of such a fluid from formations under the surface of the earth or the sea bed. The fluid is transported in a supply pipe or transport pipe () to a separator () in the form of a tubular separator body, a gravitation tank or similar. The separated components, water and oil, are passed out of the separator separately via outlet pipes. The fluid upstream of the separator () is subjected to shear forces so that the drops in the supply flow are torn up to form drops that are so small that the interface generally becomes new and 'uncontaminated' by surfactants. The shear forces are supplied by a phase inversion device () in the form of a valve or similar. Water can expediently be added to the fluid upstream of the phase inversion device () to achieve the desired phase inversion.

Device for separation of fluid, in particular oil, gas and water

A device in connection with a pipe separator. The pipe separator comprising an extended tubular body () with a diameter that is principally the same as or slightly larger than the diameter of the inlet pipe () of the pipe separator. A gas manifold () is arranged in connection with the inlet pipe. The manifold () includes a number of vertical degassing pipes (), which are connected to the supply pipe () immediately ahead of the inlet to the separator and which end in an overlying, preferably slightly inclined gas collection pipe (). The manifold is designed so that the gas will be diverted up through the vertical degassing pipes and collected in the gas collection pipe () for return to the outlet pipe after the separator or transported onwards to a gas tank or gas processing plant or the like.

Pipe separator inlet

A device or arrangement for cleaning a pipe separator () in which the separator body () includes an extended, tubular body with an inlet () and an outlet () having essentially the same diameter as the separator body. At the outlet, there is a bend or a loop () designed to maintain a fluid level in the separator. Just before the bend, there is an outlet () with an outlet pipe () for conducting fluid, e.g. water, from the separator. Sand or other particulate materials introduced into the outlet () are returned, using a pump () arranged on the outlet pipe (), together with the fluid from the outlet, to the separator after the bend () by means of reversal with a valve () via a return pipe (). In connection with the outlet (), there is a flushing device having a pipe loop () connected to the outlet pipe () for the return of fluid from the outlet to the nozzles () arranged in the outlet. The nozzles are designed to flush, in a direction downstream of the outlet, any particles having accumulated in the outlet chamber.

Arrangement for the cleaning of a pipe separator

A method and equipment for reducing or avoiding multiple dispersions in fluid flows each having two or more non-mixable fluid components with different specific gravities and viscosities, in particular fluid flows of oil, gas and water from different oil/gas production wells (B-B) in formations beneath the surface of the earth or sea. The fluid flow from each well (B-B), depending on whether it is oil-continuous (o/w) or water-continuous (w/o), is fed to a transport pipeline (T) so that the oil-continuous fluid flows (o/w) are supplied to the transport line (T) first and the water-continuous fluid flows (w/o) second, or the two fluid flows (o/w, w/o) are fed to two separate transport lines (T, T). In a preferred embodiment, the two separate transport lines (T, T) may be connected to a common transport line (T); the two fluid flows (o/w, w/o) are mixed before further transport and any subsequent separation in a separator. In another preferred embodiment, each of the fluid flows in the respective transport lines (T, T) may be fed to a common separator (H) or its own independent separator.

Method and equipment for the reduction of multiple dispersions

A device in connection with a separator for cleaning or reaming such a separator. The separator includes a tank or a body () with an inlet and at least one outlet (). A transport pipeline () is connected to the inlet for the supply of fluid that is to be separated in the separator. The transport pipeline () extends from the inlet through the separator body (). Part () of the line that is located inside the separator body () is provided with perforations or slits () so that fluid that arrives in the transport pipeline () flows into the tank through the perforations/slits (). Mechanical equipment for cleaning the transport pipeline () is designed to be sent from a magazine through the separator body () and on via a pipe loop back to the magazine.

Arrangement related to a separator for the cleaning of such separator

Method and device for separation of a fluid, in particular oil, gas and water

A process in connection with a pipe () for transforming a dispersed gas/liquid flow into laminar stratified flow. The solution involves a first set of stationary guide blades () arranged in the pipe () and designed to rotate the liquid/gas flow. The pipe () is, in turn, connected to a second pipe () with the same or a different diameter and, in the transition between the pipe () and the second pipe (), there is a second set of blades or a device () that is designed to stop the rotation of the gas. The natural flow pattern of the gas/liquid in the second pipe () then becomes stratified over a predefined distance.

Process for transforming gas/liquid flow into laminar or stratified flow

A pipe separator for the separation of fluids, for example the separation of oil, gas and water in connection with the extraction and production of oil and gas from formations beneath the sea bed. The pipe separator includes a pipe-shaped separator body () with an inlet and outlet that principally corresponds to a transport pipe () to which the pipe separator is connected. The pipe separator further includes a pipe bend or loop () arranged in the pipe separator or in connection with its outlet to form a downstream fluid seal in relation to the pipe separator body (), which is designed to maintain a fluid level in the pipe separator, but which also allows the pipe separator () and the loop () to be pigged.

Pipe separator for the separation of fluids, particularly oil, gas and water

A pipe separator is for separation of fluids, for example separation of oil, gas and water in connection with extraction and production of oil and gas from formations under a sea bed. The pipe separator comprises an extended, tubular separator body having a diameter at inlet and outlet ends that is mainly equal to or slightly greater than a diameter of a transport pipe to which the separator body is connected. A cyclone is arranged upstream of the separator body for separation of any gas present. An electrostatic coalescer is incorporated in and constitutes an integrated part of the separator body.

Pipe separator with improved separation

A device in connection with a separator for separation of a multiphase fluid, including a preferably cylindrical container () with an inlet (), a first outlet () for liquid with a higher gravity (for example water), a second outlet () for liquid with a lower gravity (for example oil) and a third outlet () for gas. A pipe separator () is connected to the inlet () of the container (). The pipe separator () constitutes a continuation of a supply pipe () for supplying the fluid to be separated and extends partially into the container ().

Downhole gas/water separation and re-injection

A method and device for separating a fluid from a formation into several fluid components in a well is disclosed. The method and device include feeding the fluid into a mainly horizontal section of pipe located in a down-hole, mainly horizontal section of the well, such that the fluid is set to flow at a speed through a length of the mainly horizontal section of pipe such that the fluid components are separated and a boundary layer is formed between the fluid components. The fluid components with a lower density are formed in a top part of the mainly horizontal section of pipe and fluid components with a higher density are formed in a bottom part of the mainly horizontal section of pipe. The fluid components with the lower density and the fluid components with the higher density are removed through separate outlets of the mainly horizontal section of pipe.
