The present invention provides a medical sealing device having a decreased risk that a fastening means, such as a suture or a multifilament, ruptures through the sealing device. An absorbable medical sealing device ( ) according to the present invention is provided with one or more recesses ( ) for fastening means ( ) and is characterized in that the sealing device ( ) comprises a base portion ( ), which is made of a first material having a lower modulus, and a reinforcement portion ( ), which is made of second material having a higher modulus, the reinforcement portion ( ) being provided to reinforce said recesses ( ).

Reinforced absorbable medical sealing device

An intra-arterial occluder according to the invention exhibits a central elongated portion being comparatively stiff, e.g., by being thicker, and an outer rim portion being more flexible. The occluder is passed through the puncture, and is oriented such that the axis of the central portion is generally coaxial with the vessel. When retracted, the central portion will rest against the vessel wall at two diametrically opposed areas around the puncture, and along the length of the vessel. These areas represent the strongest areas around the puncture, and will therefore be able to safely carry the retracting force. At the same time, the thinner circumferential rim portion, which is easily foldable to fit into an insertion tool, adapts to the vessel wall and acts as an efficient sealing.

Intra-arterial occluder

A guide wire for intravascular investigations includes an elongated element, and electrical conductors extending along a length of the guide wire. A portion of one of the electrical conductors is provided as a layer of electrically conductive material, extending concentrically over the circumference of, and along the elongated element forming a part of the guide wire. A method of manufacturing a conductor element for a guide wire with conductors in the form of a layer of a conductive material extending along the length of the conductor element is provided. A core element is provided. Overlapping layers of alternating insulating and conductive materials are applied concentrically around the circumference of the core element along a portion of its length, until a desired number of conductive layers have been applied.

Guide wire

The present invention relates to a guide wire, comprising a core wire (4) having a proximal and a distal end. There is at least one electrical lead (10a, 10b, 10c) provided on said core wire and extending along the length thereof, connecting to an electrical device (6) provided at the distal end of said core wire. A male connector is provided at the proximal end of said core wire, and a protective tubing (not shown) covers the core wire and the leads. The leads are formed on a sheet (14) of a thin, flexible material, said sheet being at least partially wrapped around said core wire along the length thereof. The flexible sheet has a wider portion (18) at the proximal end, and is wrapped at least one full turn around the proximal end of said core wire. The wider portion has at least one conductive strip (8a, 8b, 8c) extending over said portion in the transverse direction.
