A centrifugal separator and a method for separation of particles from a gas stream is disclosed. The separator includes a frame, a gas inlet and a gas outlet. A centrifugal rotor is arranged to be rotatable in the frame around a rotational axis and includes a plurality of separation plates defining separation passages between the plates. A central gas chamber in the rotor communicates with a radially inner portion of the separation passages and the gas outlet. A space surrounding the rotor communicates with a radially outer portion of the separation passages and the gas inlet. A device is configured to bring the gas stream in rotation upstream of the rotor. The centrifugal rotor is configured such that the rotational flow of the gas mixture drives the rotation of the centrifugal rotor for separating particles from the same gas stream being conducted from the space surrounding the rotor, through the separation passages between the plates and towards the central gas chamber.

Centrifugal separator having a vortex generator

A centrifugal separator and a method for separation of particles from a gas stream is disclosed. The separator includes a frame, a gas inlet and a gas outlet. A centrifugal rotor is arranged to be rotatable in the frame around a rotational axis and includes a separating member. A central gas chamber in the rotor communicates with a radially inner portion of the separating member and the gas outlet. A space surrounding the rotor communicates with a radially outer portion of the separating member and the gas inlet. A drive provides rotation of the centrifugal rotor for separating particles from the gas stream being conducted from the space surrounding the rotor, through the separation member and towards the central gas chamber. A ring-formed sealing arranged between and in sealing contact with the first frame portion and the centrifugal rotor. This improves the separation performance of a centrifugal separator for separation of particles from a gas stream, by reducing pressure losses and leakage from the central gas chamber.

Centrifugal separator

A centrifugal separator for separation of liquid particles from a gas stream, includes a stationary frame, a gas inlet and a gas outlet. The frame comprises a tubular element defining a rotor space inside itself and a liquid transportation space outside the tubular element. A centrifugal rotor is arranged in the rotor space and rotatably supported in the frame around a rotational axis. At least one opening is provided in the tubular element, between the rotor space and the liquid transportation space, for conducting liquid separated from the gas stream from the rotor space to the liquid transportation space.

A centrifugal separator includes a housing, a spindle, and a rotor. The spindle is only journaled in a bearing arrangement fixedly positioned in the housing at the first axial end portion. The centrifugal separator includes a seal arranged between the spindle and the housing. The seal is arranged at a distance from the bearing arrangement where the spindle is subjected to deflection. The seal includes a cylindrical inner surface associated with the housing, a circular slot in the spindle or in a rotating member associated with the spindle, and a piston ring arranged in the slot and abutting against the cylindrical inner surface.

A centrifugal separator for separating solid particles from a liquid mixture includes a rotor body. The rotor body has a separation chamber with an inlet for the liquid mixture, one or more liquid outlets for a liquid separated from the liquid mixture, a sludge outlet for the separated solid particles, a screw conveyor adapted to rotate in the rotor body, at a speed differing from the rotational speed of the rotor body, for transporting the separated solid particles in the separation chamber towards and out of the sludge outlet, a drive arrangement adapted to rotate the rotor body and the screw conveyor at their respective speeds, and a control unit which is adapted to control the drive arrangement to rotate the rotor body at a first speed during a separation phase and at a second speed, which is lower than the first speed, during a particle discharge phase.

A centrifugal separator for separation of particles from a gas stream is disclosed. The centrifugal separator includes a self-supporting frame for mounting inside an existing vessel for guiding the gas stream. The frame comprises a holder configured to hold the frame at a position inside the vessel, and a first partition for dividing the vessel into a first section and a second section. The first section is upstream of the second section. The separator includes a gas inlet communicating with the first section, and a gas outlet communicating with the second section. A centrifugal rotor is arranged to be rotatably supported in the frame around a rotational axis, the rotor having a first and a second end portion and including a plurality of separation plates defining separation passages between the plates. The centrifugal separator is configured such that the first and second sections communicate via the separation passages of the rotor.

The invention relates to a centrifugal separator having a bearing device and a lubricating device comprising a rotatable pump device. The pump device comprises a lubricant inlet to receive lubricant from a lubricant reservoir, and a duct to convey lubricant to an outlet device for delivering at least part of said lubricant in the form of lubricant mist through at least one lubricant outlet. The pump device further comprises a gas inlet and the outlet device comprises a gas outlet, whereby during rotation of the pump device a gas flow is maintained from the gas inlet to the gas outlet bringing along lubricant present in the duct towards the outlet device. The centrifugal separator further comprises a housing which surrounds the bearing device and the lubricating device and which allows lubricant mist to pass from the lubricating device to the bearing device in order to lubricate the latter.

The present invention relates to a modular refrigeration unit for a refrigeration appliance, and to a process for assembling the modular refrigeration unit to a cabinet of a refrigeration appliance. A modular refrigeration unit () includes a base plate () supporting a condensing assembly (), which comprises condensing means () and a compressor (), and an evaporating assembly () comprising an evaporator (); the condensing assembly and the evaporating assembly are operatively interconnected. The evaporating assembly () is arranged, in use, vertically spaced apart and above the compressor (); the evaporating assembly () is supported by support means () vertically extending from the base plate (); insulating means () separate the evaporating assembly () from the condensing assembly ().

Modular refrigeration unit and process for assembling a modular refrigeration unit to a cabinet of a refrigeration appliance

A box constituting heat insulating walls of a refrigerator or freezer cabinet, wherein the walls are formed by an inner shell of metal, an outer shell of metal, and an evacuated heat insulation between the shells. The shells provide edges which surround a rectangular access opening to the box and which are folded towards each other so that they form planar surfaces located in substantially the same plane. The planar surfaces are gas-imperviously connected to each other by a thin metal strip having poor heat conductivity. The strip is soldered to the planar surfaces.

It is proposed, in accordance with the invention, that a pressurized water purifier which includes an inlet conduit, a pressure-elevating pump mounted in the inlet conduit, a filter or membrane type purifying unit, a purified-water outlet conduit and a reject conduit for concentrated contaminated water that the reject conduit (22) includes a pressure-limiting valve (28) which is controlled by the pressure in the outlet conduit (18). This will enable the water purifier to operate at a required, high internal working pressure, while enabling the pressure of the purified water to be maintained at a maximum level limited by the water conduit system and to be varied in response to the water taken from the system in the absence of pulsations.

A device for purifying water comprises a filter unit (10) containing an osmotic membrane and provided with an inlet (11), a filtrate outlet (12), a return conduit (14) for a recirculating large flow of unfiltered water and having an outlet (22) for a small flow of reject water, According to the invention, two ion exchange units (17, 18) are arranged in parallel and connected to the filter unit (10) in such way that raw water entering the device is first passed through one of said ion exchange units to be softened, and that the reject water is passed in the opposite direction through the other ion exchange unit to regenerate the same. Valve means (19, 24) are provided for alternately shifting the ion exchange units between the functions of softening and regeneration.

Device for purifying water

When applying a method and an arrangement for purifying water, an inflow of contaminated water is converted to a pressure elevated flow which is divided in a purifying unit into a purified outflow and a contaminated outflow, which in turn is divided into a return flow and a reject flow. With the intention of providing a large return flow under high pressure for the purpose of rinsing clean the filter unit during operation, the return flow includes a first return flow (return conduit 24) which is recycled to the pressure-elevated flow (pressure conduit 16) and which is larger than the inflow, and further includes a second return flow which is pressure-restricted with respect to the first return flow, and the second return flow is returned to the inflow.

Method and apparatus for purifying water

The invention relates to a pump arrangement, especially for the operation of an osmotic water purifier comprising a filter housing (10) having a raw water inlet (11), a filtrate outlet (15), a reject outlet (16), and a flush valve (18) adapted to be opened for flushing raw water through the filter housing. The pump arrangement comprises a high pressure pump (12) for supplying raw water at the required pressure, and a circulation pump (13) for recirculating a relatively large flow through the filter housing. The high pressure pump (12) consists of a sliding vane pump of the type in which the vanes (24) are caused to sealingly engage the surrounding wall of the pump chamber by a hycraulic pressure supplied from the pressure side of the high pressure pump. The inlet of the high pressure pump is connected to a pressurized water supply line, whereby, when the flush valve (18) is opened and said pressure ceases, said vanes are moved radially inwards and the high pressure pump is opened for allowing a through flow exceeding its normal capacity.
