A turbocharger turbine wheel can include a hub that includes a rotational axis, a backdisk and a nose, where the rotational axis defines an axial coordinate (z) in a cylindrical coordinate system that includes a radial coordinate (r) and an azimuthal coordinate (Θ) in a direction of intended rotation about the rotational axis; and blades that extend outwardly from the hub, where each of the blades includes a leading edge and a trailing edge, where the leading edge includes a lower axial point defined by a first theta angle and an upper axial point defined by a second theta angle, where the first theta angle is greater than the second theta angle with respect to the direction of intended rotation of the turbine wheel.

A turbocharger turbine wheel can include a hub that includes a rotational axis, a backdisk and a nose, where the rotational axis defines an axial coordinate (z) in a cylindrical coordinate system that includes a radial coordinate (r) and an azimuthal coordinate (&#x398;) in a direction of intended rotation about the rotational axis; and blades that extend outwardly from the hub, where each of the blades includes an inducer portion and an exducer portion, where, in the inducer portion, in a direction outwardly from the hub, each of the blades includes positive lean angles, a zero lean angle and negative lean angles and where, in the exducer portion, in a direction outwardly from the hub, each of the blades includes negative lean angles, a zero lean angle and positive lean angles.

Turbocharger turbine wheel

A turbine end intake structure for a turbocharger includes a turbine housing, a turbine having multiple blades and located in a turbine shell, and thermal insulation located between the turbine end of the turbocharger and another part. A flow-guiding channel for engine exhaust gases is provided on the turbine housing in communication with the interior of the turbine housing. An inner surface of the turbine housing matching peripheral edges of the blades is a cylindrical surface coaxial with the turbine, while the shape of the peripheral edges of the blades follows the cylindrical surface. Angle-cut portions are provided on the blades at positions corresponding to an intake port of the flow-guiding channel. The thermal insulation has an outwardly extending flow-guiding part, and a flow-guiding path for engine exhaust gases formed by the flow-guiding channel and the flow-guiding part is perpendicular to the angle-cut portions of the blades.

Turbine end intake structure for turbocharger, and turbocharger comprising the same

A compressor housing assembly can include a shell that includes a cylindrical wall portion including a fluid inlet opening at one end and a sloped mating surface at an opposing end and, extending radially outwardly from the cylindrical wall portion, a spiral wall portion that defines, in part, a volute; and an insert that includes a cylindrical wall portion including a fluid inlet opening at one end and a shroud surface at an opposing end and, extending radially outwardly from the cylindrical wall portion, an annular ring portion including a sloped mating surface and, extending from the shroud surface, a diffuser surface, where, in an assembled state, the sloped mating surface of the insert and the sloped mating surface of the shell form a sloped interface between the insert and the shell. Various other examples of devices, assemblies, systems, methods, etc., are also disclosed.
