Protection circuitry configured to protect an electrical load from both overvoltage and overcurrent and includes a recovery period timer configured to set a recovery time. The recovery time allows a system, including a power supply, voltage regulator, protection circuitry and electrical load to dissipate heat and reset components. The protection circuitry is configured to monitor downstream performance of the electrical load and disconnect upstream power based on a downstream failure or other performance characteristics. The protection circuitry may include a downstream overvoltage sensing circuit that controls a current source. The current source injects current into an overcurrent protection loop in the protection circuitry that includes the configurable recovery period timer. In this manner both an overvoltage and an overcurrent event may take advantage of the configurable recovery period timer without the need for a separate time delay circuit.

Overvoltage protection combined with overcurrent protection

A manually activated communications system is provided. The manually activated communications system includes a manually activated switch, a monitoring system configured to store operational and performance data of a vehicle, and a radio, coupled to the monitoring system and the manually activated switch, which may be located within or outside the monitoring system. The manually activated switch, monitoring system and radio are contained within the vehicle. The radio is configured to wirelessly transmit the operational and performance data of the vehicle to a portable processing system, proximate to the vehicle, when the vehicle is parked and the manually activated switch is actuated.

A method of reactive extrusion copolymerization of vinyl monomer consisting of (1) feeding vinyl monomer or at least one vinyl monomer together with an initiator into the first screw of twin-screw extruder, and modified resin into the subsequent screw section; (2) feeding the above monomer into the screw segment after auto-acceleration zone and feeding the initiator corresponding to the temperature of barrel and micro/nano inorganic modified fillers after the half-life period of the initiator; (3) feeding the antioxidant and anti-UV agent at the end of the polymerization, and then removing unpolymerized monomer and by-products by devolatilization of screw segment; (4) obtaining vinyl copolymer resin with a anticipated molecular weight of 5&#xd7;102 to 6&#xd7;105 from the reactive extrusion polymerization by controlling the temperature of different screw segments. The invention which overcomes the existing defects of the free radical polymerization by reactive extrusion technology, can not only meet the requirement of short stay time of reactive extrusion polymerization, combine the functionalization and high performance, but also make it possible to obtain high molecular weight polymers.
