A highly active and selective solid catalyst comprising stable single-atom iridium (Ir) anchored in a zeolite, e.g., ZSM-5, for upcycling of plastics, such as high-density polyethylene, to yield valuable lower molecular weight hydrocarbon products is disclosed.

Efficient and selective conversion of high-density polyethylene into valuable hydrocarbons

A catalytic structure has a plurality of high-entropy alloy (HEA) nanoparticles. Each HEA nanoparticle is composed of a homogeneous mixture of elements of cobalt (Co), molybdenum (Mo), and at least two transition metal elements. For example, in some embodiments, each HEA nanoparticle is a quinary mixture of Co, Mo, iron (Fe), nickel (Ni), and copper (Cu). The homogeneous mixture in each HEA nanoparticle forms a single solid-solution phase. The catalytic structure is used to catalyze a chemical reaction, for example, ammonia decomposition or ammonia synthesis. Methods for forming the catalytic structure are also disclosed.

High-entropy alloy (HEA) catalysts, methods of forming HEA catalysts, and methods of using HEA catalysts

Described are methods for converting methane to olefins, aromatics, or a combination thereof using a single atom catalyst comprising CeOnanoparticles impregnated with individual atoms of noble metals including Pt, Pd, Rh, Ru, Ag, Au, Ir, or a combination thereof. These single atom catalysts of the present invention are heated with methane to form olefins and aromatics.

Method for preparation of nanoceria supported atomic noble metal catalysts and the application of platinum single atom catalysts for direct methane conversion

Described are methods of removing phosphorous from aqueous solutions using copper-substituted aluminosilicate materials. The copper-substituted aluminosilicate materials are copper-substituted zeolites that are recyclable and have desirable recovery efficiencies. Also described are methods of making copper-substituted aluminosilicate materials, using copper-substituted aluminosilicate materials, systems using copper-substituted aluminosilicate materials, and methods of using these systems.
