A data packet, that is to be transmitted in a dual connectivity (DC) or carrier aggregation (CA) based communications system, may include an indication to indicate whether the data packet is configured to be transmitted in a first frequency of a first carrier or a second frequency of a second carrier, and be transmitted, by a communication device, in the first frequency or the second frequency based on the indication. A data packet in the communications system may also be transmitted first in a first frequency higher than a second frequency, and then be retransmitted in the second frequency upon transmission failure of the data packet in the first frequency.

Method and apparatus for service continuity across LF and mmWave

Methods and apparatuses are described herein for adapting clear channel assessment (CCA) thresholds with or without Transmit Power Control (TPC) are disclosed. An IEEE 802.11 station (STA) may dynamically calculate a STA specific transmit power control (TPC) value and a STA specific clear channel assessment (CCA) value based on a target TPC parameter and a target CCA parameter. The target TPC parameter and the target CCA parameter may be received from an IEEE 802.11 cluster head configured to control TPC and CCA for a plurality of STAs associated with the BSS. The target TPC parameter and the target CCA parameter also may be related. The STA may then determine whether a carrier sense multiple access (CSMA) wireless medium of a wireless local area network (WLAN) basic service set (BSS) is occupied or idle based on the STA specific CCA value.

A computer-implemented method for sidelink beam sweeping includes transmitting, by a first electronic device and to a base station, uplink sounding reference signals (UL-SRSs) on N UL-SRS resources using N transmit beam patterns, where N is an integer greater than 1, receiving, by the first electronic device and from the base station, information associated with sidelink beam management (SL-BM), where the information associated with SL-BM indicates SL resources allocated to the first electronic device and beam pattern indices indicating transmit beam patterns for SL-BM, and transmitting, by the first electronic device and to a second electronic device, one or more sidelink beam management reference signals (SL-BMRSs), based on the received information associated with SL-BM, using one or more of the indicated transmit beam patterns.

A method for sidelink beam reporting for device to device (D2D) communication includes receiving, by a first electronic device and from a base station, configuration of one or more beam management reference signals (BMRSs) on a sidelink between the first electronic device and a second electronic device and configuration of one or more sidelink random access channels (SL-RACHs), receiving and measuring, by the first electronic device and based on the received configuration of one or more BMRSs, a plurality of BMRSs transmitted by the second electronic device, and transmitting, by the first electronic device and based on the received configuration of one or more SL-RACHs, a SL-RACH to the second electronic device.

Sidelink beam management

Mechanisms may be used for aggregating acknowledgement (ACK), block ACK (BA) and/or short packets transmissions for multi-user (MU) wireless communication systems. Aggregation mechanisms may be used for uplink (UL) and/or downlink (DL) orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA), and/or UL/DL multiple-user multiple input multiple output (MU-MIMO) transmissions, for example. Multi-user short packets may be aggregated and/or simultaneously transmitted for DL, UL, or peer-to-peer (P2P) transmissions.

Short packet optimization in WLAN systems

A satellite constellation provides communication between user terminals (UTs) and ground stations that connect to other networks. Grant-free transmissions allow the UTs access to the satellite uplink as needed. Each UT is assigned a unique preamble that represents a combination of repetition pattern (from a set of patterns) and precoding vectors (from a set of precoding vectors). The repetition pattern specifies two or more uplink slots to transmit the same data. The precoding vectors specify different phase angles for the respective uplink slots. The UT transmits a signal using the preamble, repetition pattern, and precoding vectors. The satellite receives these signals, and stores signal data representative of the signals, including repetitions. Overlapping signals from different UTs received during the same timeslot are separated using successive interference cancellation or a linear equalizer. The recovered signal may then be processed to recover data encoded therein.

System for grant-free transmissions

Embodiments of the present disclosure provide an apparatus and method for beam failure recovery between a UE and a base station operating in a discontinuous reception (DRX) mode. In an embodiment, the UE receives a frame from a base station for determining a radio link quality of a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH). The UE determines whether the frame is received only during the DRX ON state of the DRX mode and that the radio link quality of the PDCCH is less than an acceptable quality threshold. In response, the UE transmits a recovery message to the base station indicating a change to a communication beam used to receive the frame.

Paging the DCI is transmitted in a beam sweeping manner and each beam used in each time duration in the set of time durations corresponds to a respective beam used for a WUS transmission in the set of WUSs. The UE monitors a radio link quality of WUSs in the set of WUSs and, based thereon, selects a first WUS in the set of WUSs. The UE identifies a first time duration for DCI page monitoring, the first time duration corresponding to the first WUS. The UE monitors the DCI page during the first time duration.

A computer-implemented method for operating a receiving device includes receiving a configuration for a first signal, wherein the first signal is configured for transmission in a first subcarrier spacing, wherein symbols of the first signal are each repeated an integer number of times, and wherein the integer number is equal to a ratio of a second subcarrier spacing to the first subcarrier spacing, and receiving the first signal in accordance with the second subcarrier spacing.

Method and apparatus for medium access control for uniform multiple access points coverage in wireless local area networks

Aspects of this disclosure provide techniques for detecting and recovering from beam-failure events. In some embodiments, motion sensor information generated by motion sensors on a UE is used to detect, predict, and/or recover from a beam failure event that results, or would otherwise result, from movement of the UE. The motion sensor information may be used to adjust a current beam direction used by the UE to transmit or receive a signal, or to determine a recommendation for adjusting a current beam direction of the base station. The motion sensor information may be generated by any sensor that detects a movement of the UE, such as a gyroscope, an accelerometer, a magnetometer, a global positioning system (GPS) sensor, a global navigation satellite system (GNSS) sensor, or any other device that detects a change in position/orientation of the UE.
