A multi-band antenna includes a first column of radiating elements that are configured to operate in a first operating frequency band mounted on a reflecting plate; a second column of radiating elements that are configured to operate in a second operating frequency band mounted on the reflecting plate; a first fence and a second fence located on both sides of the reflecting plate that extend forward from the reflecting plate, where the first and second columns of radiating elements are arranged in between the first and second fences, the first fence and the second fence respectively comprise a frequency selective surface with a passband and a stopband, the passband covers at least the first operating frequency band, and the stopband covers at least the second operating frequency band.

Multi-band antenna

A multi-band antenna includes a reflector that provides a ground plane, a first array of first radiating elements, each of the first radiating elements located on a front side of the reflector and configured to emit first electromagnetic radiation in a low frequency band, a second array of second radiating elements, each of the second radiating elements located on the front side of the reflector and configured to emit second electromagnetic radiation in a high frequency band, and an artificial magnetic conductor (AMC) plane that is located between the reflector and a radiator of the first radiating element and between the reflector and a radiator of the second radiating element. The AMC plane is configured to reflect the first electromagnetic radiation substantially in phase and to reflect the second electromagnetic radiation substantially in antiphase.

The present invention relates to a cavity phase shifter with a housing having at least one cavity and a transmission line mounted in the cavity. The transmission line is provided with an input end and an output end. The output end of the transmission line is electrically connected to another transmission line outside the cavity without the aid of a cable. The cavity phase shifter also includes a movable element mounted within the cavity. Movement of the movable element is configured to adjust a phase shift experienced by an RF signal that travels between the input end and output end of the transmission line. The cavity phase shifter can be provided in a base station antenna having a reflector; a feed board mounted forwardly of the reflector; and a radiating element extending forwardly from the feed board. The phase shifter is mounted rearward of the reflector. The phase shifter includes a printed circuit board that extends perpendicularly to the feed board, and an output end of a transmission line on the printed circuit board is soldered to a trace on the feed board. Thus, the insertion loss associated with the phase cables would be reduced and the gain performance of the antenna can be improved.

Cavity phase shifter and base station antenna

A multi-band antenna includes a first radiating element that is configured to operate in a first frequency band, a second radiating element that is configured to operate in a second, different frequency band, and a metamaterial adjusting element that is configured to at least partially reflect the electromagnetic radiation in the second frequency band incident on the metamaterial adjusting element such that the reflected electromagnetic radiation is redirected to at least partially cancel the interference of the first radiating element to the second radiating element.

Multi-band antenna and method for tuning multi-band antenna

A base station antenna comprises a plurality of columns of first radiating elements configured for operating in a first operational frequency band, each column of first radiating elements comprising a plurality of first radiating elements arranged in a longitudinal direction and an isolation wall positioned between adjacent columns of first radiating elements and extending in the longitudinal direction. The isolation wall comprises a frequency selective surface configured such that electromagnetic waves within the first operational frequency band are substantially blocked by the isolation wall.

The present disclosure relates to a phase shifter including an input port configured to receive a radio frequency (RF) signal; a first output port, a second output port, a third output port, and a fourth output port each configured to output a respective phase-shifted sub-component of the RF signal; a first conductive trace that extends in a first direction, the first conductive trace coupled to the first output port and the second output port; a second conductive trace that extends in the first direction, the second conductive trace coupled to the third output port and the fourth output port; and a first wiper configured to couple the input port to the first conductive trace and the second conductive trace, wherein the first wiper is configured to be slidable in the first direction with respect to the first conductive trace and the second conductive trace.

Phase shifter

An antenna assembly includes a substrate having front and back surfaces thereon and a plurality of through-holes therein, along with a solder pad on the back surface of the substrate. An input cable is also provided, which is attached to the back surface of the substrate. The input cable includes an outer conductor, which contacts the back surface of the substrate, and an inner conductor, which extends at least partially through a first of the plurality of through-holes and is electrically connected to the solder pad. A metal trace (e.g., 50-ohm trace) is provided on the front surface of the substrate. The metal trace is electrically connected to the solder pad by electrically conductive plating in a second of the plurality of through-holes.
