The systems and methods disclosed herein include a handheld programmer for replacing LED drivers in the field. The handheld programmer includes a communications module configured to communicate with a first light emitting diode (LED) driver and a second LED driver, and a processor configured to read a plurality of settings from the first LED driver and program the second LED driver with the plurality of settings from the first LED driver.

The systems and methods disclosed herein include a LED driver, including a current output module configured to generate a constant current output split between a plurality of output channels, each output channel connected to one or more LEDs having an associated CCT value, at least one switch encoding a plurality of lumen settings and a plurality of CCT settings, and at least one circuit coupled to the current output module and the switch, the at least one circuit configured to determine a first lumen setting from the plurality of lumen settings encoded by the at least one switch, adjust the constant current output of the current output module based on the first lumen setting, determine a first CCT setting from the plurality of CCT settings encoded by the at least one switch, and adjust the plurality of output channels of the current output module based on the first CCT setting.

LED driver with selectable lumen and CCT

A digitally compensated hysteretic power supply with enhanced resolution is provided. Such a power supply includes a comparator that is used to compare a load current sense signal with an internal signal generated from a digital-to-analog converter (DAC). A compensation circuit at a DAC input operates to improve current accuracy beyond the given DAC resolution. The current sense signal is converted to its digital equivalent, which is fed to a proportional-integral (PI) compensation loop, which in turn generates a relatively precise high resolution DAC input value. The DAC uses the higher part of the DAC value. The lower part of the DAC value is treated as a duty cycle number, and the DAC output is toggled between two levels at this duty cycle. This toggling generates a current output signal having a value that is the average of the two toggled values.

Digitally compensated hysteretic power supply with enhanced resolution

A multi string controller with independent current setting for each string is designed for solid state lighting applications. This controller can regulate multiple channels of LEDs. Each string may have a different forward voltage and current setting. A constant buck regulator is also integrated inside this controller to regulate the total current, which is fed into the LED output channels. The circuit also contains a feedback loop in order to precisely control the current passing through each string and is immune to transient conditions.

A system and method for generating a weld are provided. A power circuit in communication with a control circuit generates welding output voltage. A voltage reducing circuit in communication with the power circuit generates a reduced output voltage relative to the welding output voltage if the system determines that the welding process is idle for the predefined period of time. The welding output voltage is restored from the reduced voltage if the welding process is restarted.

Energy conservation and improved cooling in welding machines

Fault protection circuitry and methodologies for isolated power supply topologies are provided. The circuitry is configured to shut down the primary side of the supply in case of a system fault, while keeping the secondary side circuit running, thus offering flexibility for restarting upon clearing of the fault. A lighting driver thus configured with safety isolation and a secondary side microcontroller or other control circuitry, is configured so that the circuit can shut down the primary side in response to system fault detection, while keeping the secondary microcontroller running from an energy storage circuit (e.g., bulk capacitor in parallel with load). The driver operation can resume with a controlled timing if the fault is cleared. The number of restarts may be limited, and/or a timer may be used to space restarts. The driver may be used with loads other than lighting-based loads, as will be appreciated.

Power supply fault protection circuit with primary side shutdown and restart

Systems, methods, and computer program products for turn on optimization of a driver for one or more light sources are disclosed. A duty cycle value is selected from a table. The selected duty cycle corresponds to the target output current of the driver and has a corresponding voltage. The selected duty cycle is applied to the driver. An output voltage at the light source is measured, and compared to the corresponding voltage of the selected duty cycle to produce a voltage comparison result. Based on the comparison result, the selection of the duty cycle is adjusted. Additionally, an output current of the light source is measured and compared to the target output current, to produce a current comparison result. An adjustment coefficient is applied to a feedback circuit of the driver based thereon, wherein the feedback circuit adjusts a switching frequency of the driver based on the selected duty cycle.

Turn on optimization

Multiple output channel light source power supply circuits, and methods for protecting the output channels, are provided. A front end circuit receivess an input voltage and provides a regulated front end DC voltage. A plurality of voltage converter circuits are each configured to receive the regulated front end DC voltage and provide a separate associated DC output for an associated one of the multiple output channels. A protection switch is coupled therebetween, and includes a conducting state, to couple the front end DC voltage to the plurality of voltage converter circuits, and a non-conducting state, to decouple the front end DC voltage. A current sense circuit is coupled to the voltage converter circuits, and provides a current sense output representative of current through at least one voltage converter circuit. A controller circuit places the protection switch in the non-conducting state in response to the current sense output.

Multiple channel light source power supply with output protection

Multiple output channel light source power supply circuits, and methods for protecting, are provided. A front end circuit receives an input voltage and provides a regulated front end DC voltage (FEDC). Voltage converter circuits (VCCs) receive the FEDC and provide a separate associated DC output for each associated output channel. A protection switch is coupled between. In its conducting state, the FEDC is coupled to the VCCs. In its non-conducting state, the FEDC is decoupled. A current sense circuit of a current sensor in parallel with a bypass switch is coupled to the VCCs to provide a current sense output representing current through at least one VCC. A controller circuit places the protection switch in the non-conducting state in response to the current sense output. The bypass switch may be placed in a conducting state to shunt current around the current sensor during normal operation to reduce or eliminate inefficiency.
