The invention relates to a client device () and a network access node () for transmitting and receiving a random access preamble. The modulation sequence for the random access preamble is based on a first sequence and a second sequence. The first sequence is a sequence from a set of near-orthogonal sequences and the second sequence is a sequence from a set of constant envelope sequences. Due to its construction, the random access preamble herein provides low PAPR and suppresses the side-lobes in its auto-correlation function while producing a set of preambles with low cross-correlation. Furthermore, the invention also relates to corresponding methods and a computer program.

Client device and network access node for transmitting and receiving a random access preamble

A client device for wireless communication includes a transceiver and a processor. The transceiver is configured to receive frequency resource information to indicate a set of frequency resources for a physical random access channel (PRACH) preamble transmission. The frequency resource information includes at least one of: an interlace information indicating at least one of an interlace of a block-interlaced frequency-division multiplexing (B-IFDM) allocation, a resource element allocation information indicating a subset of resource elements within each block of the at least one B-IFDM interlace, and a resource element spacing information, such that an at least one resource element within at least one block of the at least one B-IFDM interlace is allocated for the transmission of one PRACH preamble according to a tone-interlaced frequency-division multiplexing (T-IFDM) allocation. The resource element allocation is repeated in each block of the at least one B-IFDM interlace.

Devices, methods and computer programs for saving frequency resources in wireless communications

The present disclosure relates to reference signal design methods and devices. In one example method, a first communication device obtains at least one sequence from a subset of sequences in a set of sequences and obtains at least one reference signal based on the obtained at least one sequence. The sequence is phase rotated during its generation, phase rotated in the frequency domain, or cyclically shifted in the time domain based on a constant value Δ. The first communication device transmits the reference signal to a second communication device.

First and second communication devices with improved reference signal design

Example wireless communications methods and apparatus with two-way beam failure recovery are disclosed. One example method includes receiving a downlink beam failure recovery request by a network device from a client device indicating at least one new downlink candidate beam determined to replace at least one failed downlink beam. The network device detects at least one failed uplink beam, determines at least one new uplink candidate beam to replace the detected at least one failed uplink beam, and generates uplink redirection information indicating the determined at least one new uplink candidate beam. A response including the generated uplink redirection information is generated by the network device, and transmitted to the client device.

This disclosure relates to techniques for synchronization signals. The synchronization signal comprise a primary synchronization signal (PSS) generated based on a PSS sequence and a secondary synchronization signal (SSS) generated based on an SSS sequence. The SSS sequence may be generated based on a first sequence corresponding to a first cyclic shift and a second sequence corresponding to a second cyclic shift. The first cyclic shift and the second cyclic shift are associated with a Cell ID. The PSS sequence may be generated based on one of the first and the second sequences.

The present disclosure relates to a client device and a network access node for transmitting and receiving a random access preamble which comprises a division of a set of resource blocks available for transmission of the random access preamble into at least two subsets of resource blocks, wherein each resource block in the set of resource blocks comprises a plurality of subcarriers, a first selection of resource blocks within the first subset of resource blocks and a second selection of resource blocks within the second subset of resource blocks, wherein the first selection of resource blocks is different to the second selection of resource blocks, and a mapping of a modulation sequence of the random access preamble onto at least one subcarrier in each selected resource block. A client device includes a processor and a memory. The client device is caused to obtain a first indication indicating an outcome of a link monitoring procedure associated with a serving link between a network access node and the client device. The client device is also caused to obtain a second indication indicating an outcome of a link re-configuration procedure associated with the serving link. The client device is further caused to determine a value of a first counter associated with a radio link failure timer based on the first indication and the second indication. The client device is additionally caused to start the radio link failure timer when the value of the first counter is equal to or larger than a first counter threshold value.
