A wireless mouse operatively coupled to an information handling system including a wireless mouse microcontroller and a power management unit (PMU) to provide power to the wireless mouse microcontroller and the PMU operatively coupled to a battery and an ultracapacitor. The wireless mouse further comprising a inertial solenoidal energy harvester device operatively coupled to the PMU and placed within a housing of the wireless mouse to charge the ultracapacitor when the wireless mouse is moved. The wireless mouse microcontroller executing code instructions to determine a standby mode or an active mode based on input from an actuation/engagement sensor with regard to user engagement and, with the wireless mouse PMU, switch between a power source from the battery to the ultracapacitor when the wireless mouse is in a standby mode and to switch back when the wireless mouse is in active use.

System and method for a power sustainability mouse with inertial solenoidal energy harvester device

A companion device hub includes a hub processor, a hub memory device, and a hub power management unit (PMU). The companion device hub further includes a policy-based contextual system executed by the hub processor to prioritize the initialization of tasks on an information handling system operatively coupled to the companion device hub along with at least one peripheral device. An information handling system peripheral mouse accepts scroll inputs at a scroll wheel extending from the upper surface of the mouse. The scroll wheel rotates about an axis and has a geared wheel core with peaks and valleys that rotate past a magnet, such as a Halbach magnet. The geared wheel core interacts with a magnetic field of the Halbach magnet so that magnetic flux resistance to rotation varies based upon the distance between the peaks and valleys to the magnetic field. Measuring changes in current at the geared wheel core related to changes in the magnetic field as the scroll wheel rotates provides an indication of wheel rotation, such as by spikes of current as the peaks pass the Halbach magnet.

An information handling system mouse includes a position sensor that detects movement of the mouse and reports the movement to generate cursor movement at plural displays interfaced with the information handling system. The mouse automatically changes between a first position resolution and a second position resolution to generate cursor movement based upon a resolution of a display at which the cursor is presented. As the cursor moves between each of plural displays in response to mouse movement, the mouse automatically changes the position resolution so that cursor movement relative to the mouse movement remains consistent even where the cursor is presented at displays having different display resolutions.

A keyboard of an information handling system includes keyboard (RF) transmitter/receiver that provides range information for a mobile device paired to the keyboard RF transmitter/receiver. A keyboard controller is coupled to the keyboard RF transmitter/receiver and is responsive to the range information indicating the mobile device is out of range to disable key input data of the keyboard. After the key input data is disabled, the keyboard controller enables the key input data responsive to the range information indicating the mobile device has come back into range. The keyboard RF transmitter/receiver communicates with a host RF transmitter/receiver over a first RF channel and communicates with the mobile device over a second RF channel. The keyboard controller enables the key input data responsive to a successful override of the keyboard input data being disabled. The override is a predetermined key sequence and/or a valid finger print.

A first wireless speaker and microphone device paired with an information handling system comprising a microphone, speaker, wireless radio system for conducting a first pairing with the information handling system for wireless communications, and memory for storing a pairing profile for the first pairing. Disclosed is a covering of a fan unit of an information handling system. The covering contains a bottom covering and a top covering. The bottom covering contains i) copper and an first aluminum alloy, or ii) 10 wt. % to 50 wt. % of a thermally conductive plastic, and 50 wt. % to 90 wt. % of a post-consumer-recycled (PCR) plastic and/or biodegradable plastic. The top covering contains copper and a second aluminum alloy. The bottom covering houses a motor and blades of a fan of the fan unit, the top covering abuts against the bottom covering, and the fan is positioned in a space formed between the bottom and top covering. Fan unit containing the covering, and an information handling system containing the fan unit is also disclosed.

A graphics hub has a dock size to accept an information handling system on an upper surface so that plural contactless connectors in the bottom surface of the information handling system align with plural contactless connectors of the dock. Each set of plural contactless connectors interfaces with a PCIe bus having a bandwidth that is equaled by the cumulative bandwidth of the plural contactless connectors when communicating serially. Visual information on the information handling system communicated through a bus, such as a PCIe bus, is communicated through the serial wireless 60 GHz signals at the full bus bandwidth available.
