Wireless communications systems and methods related to beam failure detection (BFD) in a dormancy bandwidth part (BWP) are provided. A user equipment (UE) determines to operate in a dormancy mode for a cell of a wireless communication network. The UE operates in the dormancy mode for the cell of the wireless communication network, where the operating in the dormancy mode includes performing a beam failure detection (BFD) in a dormancy bandwidth part (BWP) based on a configuration. The configuration may include a control resource set (CORESET) configuration for the dormancy BWP.

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a wireless communication device may transmit a resource status request requesting load information related to load balancing between the wireless communication device and one or more other wireless communication devices. The wireless communication device may receive a resource status response including the load information in response to the request. In other aspects, a User Equipment (UE) may receive a Radio Resource Control (RRC) configuration including a set of target cells for a conditional handover procedure and load information of the target cells. The UE may select a target cell from the set of target cells for the conditional handover procedure based at least on the load information of the target cells. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Mobility load balancing in wireless communication network

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may operate in dual connectivity with a master node (MN) that has a capability to operate in a particular frequency band range (e.g., a range above 6 gigahertz (GHz)) and a secondary node (SN). The MN or SN may transmit an indication to an SN or MN, respectively, that includes sets of frequency bands in which the UE may measure, including frequency bands within the particular frequency band range. The SN or MN that received the indication may update a gap pattern for at least one of the frequency bands within the particular frequency band range and transmit an updated gap configuration to the MN or SN that transmitted the indication. Additionally, the MN or SN may choose fixed gap pattern configuration roles or may both dynamically identify gap patterns.

This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatuses for early measurement associated with configuring with multiple secondary nodes (SNs). In one aspect, the configuration of multiple SNs may be improved by allowing a master node (MN) to determine a multi-SN configuration based at least in part on measurements of actual channel conditions as seen by the UE. Enabling the MN to receive the measurement information early during a process associated with establishing a connection between the UE and the MN may thereby improve efficiency and reduce latency associated with the configuration of multiple SNs.

In one aspect of the disclosure, a method for wireless communication includes determining, by a user equipment (UE), listen before talk (LBT) information associated with new radio-unlicensed (NR-U) operation of the UE. A method of wireless communication for a user equipment (UE) includes entering a dormancy period for a secondary cell group (SCG) of a base station (BS) during which no downlink (DL) data or control transmissions are received from the SCG; performing a channel state information (CSI) measurement on the SCG during the dormancy period to generate a measurement report; determining an uplink (UL) beam of a primary secondary cell (PSCELL) of the SCG; transmitting the measurement report to the BS on the UL beam of the SCG; and determining, during the dormancy period and after transmitting the measurement report, one or more downlink (DL) beams for communicating on the SCG based on one or more rules and based on the measurement report, wherein the one or more rules result in the BS determining the same one or more DL beams based on the measurement report.

Beam updates during a secondary cell group (SCG) dormancy period

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A UE may identify a non-dormant mode configuration for measuring cross-link interference in a non-dormant mode for a cell. The UE may receive, from a base station, an indication to switch to a dormant mode for the cell and may identify a dormant mode configuration for measuring the cross-link interference in the dormant mode. The UE may measure the cross-link interference in the dormant mode based on the identified dormant mode configuration and receiving the indication to switch to the dormant mode. The UE may transmit, to the base station, an indication of the measured cross-link interference.

Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for paging based on a paging early indication (PEI). Particular aspects provide for a method for wireless communication performed by a user equipment (UE). The method generally includes determining a set of paging cycles for receiving paging information from a base station (BS), receiving a first paging early indicator (PEI) from the BS in a first paging cycle of the set of paging cycles, wherein the first PEI indicates whether the paging information will be transmitted to the UE in one or more second paging cycles of the set of paging cycles occurring after the first paging cycle, and receiving the paging information in the one or more second paging cycles based on the first PEI received in the first paging cycle.

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may generate a report for one or more two-step random access channel (RACH) procedures between the UE and a base station (BS), wherein the RACH report includes at least one of an indication of a quantity of message A (MsgA) payloads transmitted during the one or more two-step RACH procedures on each beam of one or more beams associated with the BS, an indication of one or more parameters associated with each MsgA communication transmitted during the one or more two-step RACH procedures, or an indication of whether a respective signal strength for each beam, associated with the one or more two-step RACH procedures, satisfies a signal strength threshold. The UE may transmit the report to the BS. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Certain aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to methods and apparatus for performing minimization of drive test (MDT) operations. For example, certain aspects provide a method for wireless communication. The method generally includes receiving, at a radio access network (RAN), a measurement configuration to start a trace of a user-equipment (UE), determining a transition of the UE to an inactive state, and sending one or more messages to coordinate the trace of the UE or indicate that the trace has failed in response to the determination.

Techniques for performing minimization of drive test (MDT)

This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus for aperiodic measurement configurations. In one aspect, delaying transitioning of a secondary cell group (SCG) to an active state until a next synchronization signal block (SSB) or periodic reference signal may result in an excessive delay in obtaining network resources of the SCG. Some aspects described herein enable a base station (BS) to transmit signaling using a master cell group (MCG) cell to schedule resources for an aperiodic reference signal transmission and measurement using the SCG. For example, the BS may transmit signaling to a user equipment (UE) to identify a reference signal resource for an aperiodic reference signal transmission and measurement. In this case, the BS may transmit the aperiodic reference signal using an SCG cell, and the UE may measure the aperiodic reference signal and provide a report identifying the measurement of the aperiodic reference signal.

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive information related to a dedicated preconfigured uplink resource (DPUR) in a message releasing the UE to an idle mode or an inactive mode. For example, in some aspects, the information related to the DPUR may identify one or more uplink resources that are allocated to the UE to enable the UE to initiate an uplink data transmission in the idle mode or the inactive mode. The UE may transmit, based at least in part on the information related to the DPUR, uplink data while in the idle mode or the inactive mode. Numerous other aspects are provided.

This disclosure provides systems, methods, apparatus, and computer programs encoded on a computer storage media for providing user equipment mobility history information to a remote computing platform. In one aspect, a user equipment may store user equipment mobility history information in memory within the user equipment. The user equipment may determine whether a radio access network connection state has changed from a primary cell in a radio resource controller state to another cell outside a radio access network, to an inter-radio access technology cell, or to an out of service. The user equipment may transmit the user equipment mobility history information to the remote computing platform in response to determining that the user equipment radio access network connection state has changed from a primary cell in a radio resource controller state to another cell outside a radio access network, an inter-radio access technology cell, or an out of service state.
