A process for converting naphtha to light olefins comprises contacting a naphtha stream with a zeolitic catalyst to produce a light paraffin stream. The light paraffin may be separated into an ethane stream and a propane stream. The ethane in the ethane stream may be converted into ethylene, and the propane in the propane in the propane stream may be converted into propylene. The light paraffin stream may also be separated into a heavy stream which may be recycled back to the contacting step.

Process for converting naphtha to light olefins with separation

A modified UZM-14 zeolite is described. The modified UZM-14 zeolite has a Modification Factor of 6 or more. The modified UZM-14 zeolite may have one or more of: a Si/Alratio of 14 to 30; a total pore volume in a range of 0.5 to 1.0 cc/g; at least 5% of a total pore volume being mesopores having a diameter of 10 nm of less; a cumulative pore volume of micropores and mesopores having a diameter of 100 &#x212b; or less of 0.25 cc/g or more; or a Collidine IR Bronsted acid site distribution greater than or equal to an area of 3/mg for a peak in a range of 1575 to 1700 cmafter desorption at 150&#xb0; C. Processes of making the modified UZM-14 zeolite and transalkylation processes using the modified UZM-14 zeolite are also described.

Process for making modified small-crystal mordenite, transalkylation process using same, and modified small-crystal mordenite

A catalyst suitable for the conversion of aromatic hydrocarbons is described. The catalyst comprises UZM-54 zeolite; a mordenite zeolite; a binder comprising alumina, silica, or combinations, thereof; and a metal selected from one or more of: Groups VIB(6) VIIB(7), VIII(8-10) and IVA(14) of the Periodic Table. A process for transalkylation using the catalyst is also described.

UZM-54 and transalkylation process using same

A process is disclosed for an improved catalyst stripping process. The stripping vessel is divided into two zones. The first zone is a stripping zone where a substantial portion of the volatile hydrocarbons is removed at higher severity conditions. After the catalyst is stripped, the stripped catalyst moves to the lower cooling zone to be cooled at lower severity conditions. The flow rates, temperatures, pressures and the stripping and cooling zones are designed to ensure there is minimal volatile hydrocarbons on the catalyst by the time it leaves the stripping vessel. This design enables efficient stripping of volatile hydrocarbons at high severity conditions and eliminates these components from being stripped off elsewhere in the unit causing process and equipment issues.

Methods for catalyst stripping

The present subject matter relates generally to methods for selectively saturating the unsaturated C-C. More specifically, the present subject matter relates to methods for saturating butadiene and butenes from a hydrocarbon stream before it is combined with a fresh feed and enters a reaction zone. Removing the unsaturates from the hydrocarbon stream before the hydrocarbon stream enters the reaction zone prevents the reactor internals from coking.

Selective hydrogenation method

A process is disclosed for an improved catalyst regeneration process to improve catalyst stability and hence increase overall catalyst life. The process includes passing a spent catalyst stream to a first, or upper, combustion zone to partially regenerate the catalyst through controlled combustion of the carbon on the catalyst. The first combustion zone will burn off a high fraction of hydrogen at lower temperatures generating a large fraction of HO. The partially regenerated catalyst is passed to a second, or lower, combustion zone to burn off the remaining coke at the needed high severity operation. The second combustion zone will burn off the remaining coke at a higher temperature and higher oxygen gas inlet concentration.

Process for catalyst regeneration

A method for alkylation of a feedstock is described. The method includes contacting the feedstock comprising at least one alkylatable aromatic compound and an alkylating agent with a first alkylating catalyst composition under alkylating conditions, the first alkylating catalyst composition comprising UZM-8 zeolite and a binder, the first alkylating catalyst composition having less than 50 wt% UZM-8 zeolite; wherein a total alkylated selectivity at a temperature and a molar ratio of alkylatable aromatic compound to alkylating agent is greater than 99.0%.
