The invention pertains to a mobile communications device with a camera, comprising a microphone (), loudspeaker, display, keypad and camera. According to the invention the mobile communications device comprises at least two parts covering each other alternatively completely in the transport position of the camera or partly in the operational position of the camera so that when the parts () cover each other in the transport position of the camera the lens () of the camera is protected, and in the operational position of the camera the lens () of the camera is exposed. Such a mobile communications device is easy to use and includes a protected lens () the protection of which is based on normal procedures carried out by the user of the mobile communications device when using the device.

In the present invention the cover-like part (21) of an RF shield is manufactured from a transparent material, e.g., plastic, and unplated areas that function as light conductors (22) are left in the conductive plating covering the shield. The present invention combines an RF shield and a light conductor into one structure whose manufacturing process is quite easy to control. The present invention eliminates the necessity of having separate plates that function as light conductors.

The invention relates to a method for attaching an EMC protective casing to a circuit board and to an EMC protective casing. The fastening method according to the invention is based on convex pins (3) in a metal casing (7), which are pressed into metal-coated openings (2) in the circuit board (1). The arrangement according to the invention is applicable as a protection against interference in portable mobile phones.

Shielding device and method of mounting

The invention relates to an EMC enclosure (4) used in radiotelephones as protection of the radiotelephone components, the enclosure (4) having no separate cover in order to service or to repair the components. Between the cover (16) and the side walls (15) the EMC enclosure has necks (7,11) with openings (8,12,13,14) between them. Due to these openings it is possible to open the cover (16) with a suitable tool. When the cover has (16) been opened it is possible to solder it back or to use a repair cover.

Electromagnetic compatibility enclosure

A procedure is utilized for forming the transmission and reception frequencies required for the operation of a digital radio telephone based on time division multiplex access, in particular, in a radio telephone for the GSM system. According to the procedure, the mixer frequencies used in the transmitter and the receiver of the radio telephone are formed by a synthesizer and a basic oscillator commmon to both the receiver and transmitter. The clock frequency for the logic of the radio telephone and the RF reference frequency to the synthesizer are produced by dividing the output frequency of the common basic oscillator.

Procedure for forming frequencies of a digital radio telephone

A printed circuit board upon which are mounted a number of electronic components is provided with a connector strip for electrically coupling the components to respective components on a second circuit board located underneath. The strip comprises a body portion and pins projecting thereform. The pins have a stepwise configuration with a first end portion extending through apertures in the upper circuit board and connected to a second connector strip on the second circuit board, a second end portion extending through the body portion, and a middle portion which abuts the surface of the upper circuit board and by which the strip is connected to the upper circuit board by means of a solder joint. Components on the upper circuit board are electrically coupled by means of tracks which are connected to the components at one end by a solder joint and at the other end by a solder joint, via pins, to the second connector strip and tracks on the lower circuit board.

This invention relates to a method by which transients can be eliminated in an apparatus comprising a current source and several functional blocks at least one of which produces transients in the operating voltage. According to the invention, a switch separates the current source and the transient-producing block from the other blocks during the time that transients are being produced and connects the current source to the other blocks and to an energy-storing buffer during the time that transients are not being produced.

The present invention concerns a circuitry for widening the power control range of radio telephone. A radio frequency signal is amplified in a controllable power amplifier (1). According to the invention, after the amplifier a controllable switch (4) is connected, which, while in a first state, does not substantially attenuate the RF power emitted transmitted from the power amplifier (1). The first power control range of the transmitter is thus produced. When the switch (4) is in a second state, it directs part of the RF power transmitted from the power amplifier (1) to a resistive element (R1) and permits part of the RF power to be transmitted to the output (RFout) of the transmitter. A second power control range is produced in this manner.

Circuitry for widening the effective range of a transmitter

The invention relates to a method and a shielding housing for shielding a printed circuit board, or a part of it, from disturbances caused by electromagnetic interference (EMI). In the method, during the manufacturing phase of the printed circuit board there are cut in the board slots (U) through the printed circuit board (pc), the length of the slots being L. The first part (2) of the housing is soldered to the printed circuit board (pc) in such a way that it approximately interconnects the ends of the cut slots (U). This first part constitutes one side wall of the shielding housing. The second part (1) of the shielding housing is made up of a cover (5) and three side walls, in which there is formed an inside groove having a height which corresponds to the thickness of the printed circuit board. After the soldering of the components, this second part (1) is slipped on the printed circuit board so that the printed circuit part between the slots (U) cut in the printed circuit board will be left on the inside of the side walls (7, 7',7') of the second part (1) and will bear on the inside grooves of the inner walls. The first part (2) and the second part (1) have locking means (3, 4) which lock the parts detachably to each other.
