A method for determining the mass of a car and counterweight of an elevator, running in an elevator shaft along their traveling paths driven by an elevator motor, in which method at least one test run is performed preferably as complete round trip of the elevator car and counterweight, in which test run a) the hoisting system balance m, b) the hoisting system friction F, and c) the hoisting system compensation ΔB is calculated from constant speed data, and in which test run d) the hoisting system inertia mass mis calculated from constant acceleration/deceleration data. From these parameters the weight of the car and counterweight is calculated without any need of weight measurements, but merely by using the power data of the elevator drive unit.

This method allows an easy determination of the elevator balance preferably in course of modernizations of an elevator system with a new elevator motor.

A system and a method for the adaptation of parameters in a transport system involve a power model which describes power flow in the transport system by means of transport system parameters, which include input parameters and status parameters. The system and method also involve the determination of at least a first and a second input parameter, and the power model is updated on the basis of at least the first input parameter. The present invention relates to an elevator condition monitoring system, which comprises at least a control unit () and a sensor arrangement () connected to the control unit, while the elevator comprises an elevator car (), an elevator drive machine () and a control system () including the required safety circuit and actuators. In the method the vertical acceleration values of the elevator car are received from the acceleration sensor and the passengers arriving in the elevator car and/or leaving the elevator car are detected on the basis of the vertical acceleration measurements of the acceleration sensor.

Method for the condition monitoring of the safety switches of the safety circuit of an elevator. Inferences can be made about the condition of a safety switch by measuring and examining the current of the safety circuit of the elevator after the state of the safety circuit has changed. The current signal is filtered, after which the amount of interference caused by contact malfunctions of the switch is determined from it. Based on the amount of interference it is possible to determine in what condition the switch is.

Condition monitoring method

A method and a system for the positioning of the elevator car and the door of the elevator in the condition monitoring system are provided. In the method the accelerations of the elevator car and the door of the elevator are measured with a sensor. By integrating the acceleration information two times in relation to time the position information is determined. When the condition monitoring system detects a fault, forecasts a malfunction occurring in the future or detects a significant change in the operation of the elevator or in the measuring signals related to the elevator, it is possible to attach to this information the location of the fault or event i.e. the position of the elevator or the position of a door of a certain floor level on the slide path. The position information can be synchronized to a separate reference point by means of a positioned switch by making an adjustment to the position information at the reference point. The measuring error caused by the misalignment of the position of the sensor is compensated for either with electronics or using a program.

Positioning method in an elevator system

The invention concerns a method and a system for monitoring the operation of the safety circuit of an elevator, said safety circuit containing safety switches connected in series with a contactor and a static circuit. In the method, the current flowing in the safety circuit is measured and the state of the safety circuit is determined on the basis of the measured current. The measurement of the safety circuit current is preferably performed without a galvanic connection to the safety circuit. The state of the safety circuit is determined on the basis of the magnitude of the measured current, from which the positions of the safety switches during the current measurement can be inferred.

The invention relates to a method and a system for executing elevator control actions from a remote terminal in a remote control system. The remote control system comprises a remote terminal, one or more monitoring cameras as well as interface and data transfer means for the transmission of camera information, elevator status data and/or control commands between the elevator and the remote control system. The monitoring cameras are so directed that their combined image area substantially covers the operating area of the elevator. The remote terminal comprises a display device for the display of image information and elevator status data and means for starting elevator control functions. In the method, the operating area of the elevator is imaged by a monitoring camera or cameras, whose image information as well as the elevator status information is displayed on the display device of the remote terminal. Based on the image information and/or elevator status data, the control action to be executed is selected and an estimation as to whether the control action involves a risk of injury is performed. If no risk of injury exists, then the execution of the control action is started from the remote terminal.

The method of the present invention can be used to monitor and predict the condition of an automatic door of an elevator or more generally an automatic door in a building. In the method, the acceleration or velocity of the door is measured and a dynamic model of the door is created. Using the model, estimated values of acceleration or velocity of the door can be calculated as a function of unknown parameters. One of the unknown parameters is the frictional force acting on the door during movement. By utilizing the estimated acceleration or velocity as well as measured acceleration or velocity values, an error function is obtained, whose minimum value is found using an optimizer. The unknown parameters corresponding to the minimum value indicate the current condition of the door. On the basis of earlier measurement results, it is additionally possible to predict a point of time when a failure is likely to occur in the operation of the door. In addition to unknown force parameters, it is possible, using a genetic algorithm, to determine the operational condition of a door closing device as well.
