A method and storage and locking arrangement for storing keys to locks and controlling the use of keys. The storage and locking arrangement consists of a closed box or a similar storage unit, a central lock and its key, as well as a number of auxiliary locks, each having its designated key. The locks are arranged in a closed box or similar storage unit so that they can be unlocked using keys from the outside of the box. The central lock is arranged to control the operation of the auxiliary locks so that when the central lock is locked, it prevents the keys to the auxiliary locks from being removed from their respective locks, and once the central lock is unlocked, it can be used to select the operation of any single auxiliary lock at a time using the corresponding key so that the key to the auxiliary lock can be removed from the auxiliary lock.

Method and a storage and locking arrangement for storing keys to locks

A cylinder housing arrangement, where the cylinder housing encloses a lock cylinder or the like, which comprises a number of locking elements to be arranged by a key, preferably tumbler discs to be turned by a key, which discs in their locked position prevent the turning of the lock cylinder relative to the cylinder housing. The cylinder housing comprises a body part and a separate cover part, which is arranged to be installed in the crosswise direction relative to the cylinder housing at the end of the body part on the inserting side of a key, so that it is locked to the body part in the axial direction of the cylinder housing.

Cylinder housing arrangement

A cylinder lock includes a turnable lock cylinder located inside a lock body and a set of code locking discs located inside the lock cylinder. Each locking disc has a key opening and is turnable in the lock body in a first turning direction from an initial position to an opening position by application of turning force to a counter surface bounding the key opening. The key opening of at least a first code locking disc is bounded by at least two discrete counter surfaces. A key is insertable in the lock when the locking discs are all at the initial position. The key has a set of combination surfaces corresponding respectively to the locking discs, for engaging a counter surface of each locking disc and applying turning force thereto when the key is inserted in the lock and is turned in the first turning direction, so that the locking discs are turned in the first turning direction to their respective opening positions. The combination surface corresponding to the first code locking disc can be provided selectively with one of at least two combination values, whereby the combination surface engages a selected one of the discrete counter surfaces for applying turning force in the first turning direction to the first code locking disc.

Cylinder lock-key-combination

A cylinder lock-key-combination, which comprises a lock body (5) having a lock cylinder (6) which is arranged to control a bolt element (4) connected thereto and which encloses a set of locking discs (7) provided with peripheral notches (13) and being symmetrical so that the cutting range of the peripheral notches (13) determining the opening combination of the lock is located on both sides of their axis of symmetry (A). A locking bar (9;10) which in its locked position is located partly in a groove (12) made in the inner surface of the lock body (5) and partly in a slot (17) in the lock cylinder (6) prevents turning of the lock cylinder (6) with regard to the lock body (5). The locking discs (7) can be turned by means of a key of the lock into a position in which the peripheral notches (13) thereof are located at the position of the locking bar (9;10) forming a uniform channel into which the locking bar (9;10) enters thereby releasing the lock cylinder (6) to turn with regard to the lock body (5). According to the invention the locking bar (9;10)is divided in the longitudinal direction of the lock into two separate locking bar elements (9;10) which together with the locking discs (7) cooperating therewith are arranged to form two locking units functionally independent of each other and the opening direction of which being opposite with regard to each other. Said groove (12) located in the lock body (5) for the locking bar comprises a transversal extension (12a;12b) for each of the locking bar elements (9;10) so that the extension (12a;12b) extends in the opposite direction with regard to the opening direction of the locking unit located at the position thereof thereby allowing movement of the locking bar element (9;10) in question into said opposite direction without opening the locking unit. Hence, the cylinder lock can be operated in opposite turning directions by means of two separate keys having quite independent combination cuts.
