A monitoring system and method for early detection of fall risk. A rise-state of a subject occupying a bed is detected. In response to the detection of the rise-state, blood pressure measurement of the subject is triggered. An alarm when the measured blood pressure is not within a selected range of blood pressures.

The invention shows a method to control a pointing device with an angular, rate sensor, that comprises generating an ensemble of orthogonal unit vector associated signals by at least one angular rate sensor to represent angular rates in a dimensional space for each mutually orthogonal unit vector direction of said dimensional space, amplifying the at least one of said signal non-linearly for determination of cursor on a screen for (x,y) coordinates of the screen, applying a decision criterion to determine the state of the pointing device as based on said unit vector associated signals. The invention also shows a pointer utilizing the method and a system comprising such a pointer.

Pointing method, a device and system for the same

A wireless communication terminal has a user exchangeable cover part. The wireless communication terminal and user exchangeable cover part are electrically interconnected by means of an electrical connector. The user exchangeable cover part comprises identification means. The user exchangeable cover part has electrical circuitry for supporting a user interface of the wireless terminal. The wireless terminal identifies the user exchangeable cover part by detecting the identification means. The wireless terminal operates the electrical circuitry of the user exchangeable cover part in dependence of the identification of user exchangeable cover part.

Function specific interchangeable cover piece for a mobile communication device

A method and system for transferring data between a phone body and a phone cover having a functionality. The data can be divided into a sequence of bit patterns which can be assigned to different frequency ranges. By arranging the frequencies in a ringing tone according to the sequence of bit patterns, the data is embedded in the ringing tone. The phone cover has a device to receive the ringing tone signal. Based on the sequence of frequencies in the ringing tone signal, the phone cover can retrieve the sequence of bit patterns for effecting the functionality of the phone cover.

Method and system for transferring data in a hand-held electronic device

An IC multiplier circuit has four cells having bipolar transistors to give an exponential input-output function. Each cell has a squaring bipolar transistor and an emitter follower. Differential output signals are taken from the squaring bipolar transistor. The voltage follower is an emitter follower with the bias current through it is substantially larger, e.g. about 10 times larger, than the bias current through the squaring bipolar transistor, which has an emitter resistor.
