Bottom grate of a crusher or drum chipper and method of producing the bottom grate

A rotary feeder for transferring loose material, said rotary feeder having a housing, where a rotor transfers material from the feed channel of the housing into the discharge channel of the housing, the rotor having blades for transferring the material, and a counter blade is fixed in the housing of the rotary feeder between the blades of the rotor for cutting oversized pieces of material. A filler is arranged in the feed channel of the rotary feeder, to prevent the formation of a protrusion in the feed channel that would disturb the flow of the material formed by the counter blade, the edge of the filler adjacent to the counter blade being arranged to yield, and the filler is arranged to return to its initial position after the cutting operation.

The invention relates to an apparatus for stacking rolling material, such as wood chips, bark or grain into a pile () and reclaiming from the pile () to a conveyor () located below the storing point, said apparatus comprising a center column () that supports a stacker boom () and a reclaimer boom () that are hinged to be turnable independently of each other in relation to the vertical axis of the center boom (). A characteristic feature of the apparatus is that at least at one point that is hinged in relation to the center column () the supporting is arranged resting on a support wheel (&#x2033;) arranged around the frame of the center column ().

Apparatus for storing rolling material in a pile and reclaiming from the pile

The invention relates to an apparatus for stacking rolling material, such as e.g. wood chips, bark or grain into a pile () and reclaiming from the pile () to a material-discharging conveyor () located below the storing point, which apparatus comprises a center column () that supports a stacker boom () and a reclaimer boom (), an equalizing hopper (), at least one conveyor () located in the equalizing hopper () for transmitting the material being discharged to the discharging conveyor (). A characteristic feature of the apparatus is that the center column () is supported directly through the equalizing hopper () onto the bottom of the equalizing hopper's () foundation.

A debarking mechanism including of rotatable debarking shafts extending parallel to an advancing direction (A) of the logs to be fed therethrough, which are provided with teeth extending beyond the circumferential surface of the shaft. At least the uppermost debarking shaft is moved sideways towards the inner part of the debarking mechanism in such a way that each debarking shaft directs an impact effect on logs colliding with it and moved by the debarking shafts located in a lower position. The circumferential speed of the debarking shaft is selected to be the greater the higher the debarking shaft is positioned. A free passage is arranged for the bark passing over the debarking shaft.

Debarking mechanism and method

The present invention relates to a method of processing logs by means of an apparatus comprising a transportation level in the advancing direction (P) of the logs, where they are arranged to be transported in a position perpendicular to their advancing direction (P), and where orifice members going therethrough and extending in the advancing direction (P) of the logs. In the method, at least two support member units spaced from each other are arranged below the transportation level whereby each support member unit comprises at least one elongated support member, which is arranged rotatably parallel to the transportation level and perpendicular to the advancing direction (P) and protruding therefrom, and said axis of rotation each support member unit is adapted so that when rotating, the support members protrude through the orifice members above the transportation level whereby the logs are received in one or more receiving spaces formed between the support members protruding above the transportation level. The invention also relates to an apparatus for implementing said method.

Method and apparatus for processing logs

The invention relates to a debarking mechanism () for the decortication or pretreatment of logs () for separately performed final debarking and for the discharge of at least some of the bark removed from a wood stream passing through the debarking mechanism, the said debarking mechanism comprising a number of rotatable debarking shafts () extending parallel to an advancing direction (A) of the logs () to be fed therethrough, which are provided with a number of teeth () extending beyond the circumferential surface of the shaft ().

A debarking mechanism including a number of rotatable debarking shafts extending parallel to an advancing direction (A) of the trees to be fed therethrough, which are provided with a number of teeth extending beyond the circumferential surface of the shaft and the debarking shafts being adapted to each other in such a way that the presently processed trees make a circular motion (C) in the debarking mechanism, in which motion the trees are forced upon the support surface constituted by the debarking shafts effected by the rotary motion of the debarking shafts. The invention relates to an apparatus for sorting wood chips, said apparatus having a feeder for supplying the wood chips onto a sloping support surface so that the chips slide along the support surface and over a slit extending across the support surface. A flow of gas through the slit providing an impulse action to the chips as the chips pass over the slit. Alongside the impulse-action generating gas flow discharging from the slit is mounted a baffle/guide plate for controlling turbulence created by the gas flow.

Apparatus for sorting wood chips in separate fractions

The invention relates to a closed air circulation system for an apparatus used for sorting wood chips, containing chips in a variety of sizes and/or fines particles, in a wood chips processing chamber, in separate fractions by means of a gas flow, which is delivered from one or more nozzle chambers by way of a nozzle slit into the wood chips processing chamber and which applies an impulse action to the processing-bound wood chips sliding along an inclined support surface. Air is circulated from the wood chips processing chamber by way of a dedusting cyclone into said one or more nozzle chambers. The wood chips processing chamber is maintained at a negative pressure by regulating the volume of air removed from the chamber. A conduit extending between the wood chips processing chamber and the one or more nozzle chambers is open to the ambient atmosphere.

Closed air circulation system

An apparatus for sorting wood chips includes a feeder for supplying wood chips onto a sloping support surface to slide along the support surface over a slit extending thereacross. The slit is configured to provide an impulse action by means of a continuous gas flow on the chips or the fines particles presently in line with the slit. The bottom end of the support surface upstream of the slit is provided with a section (a) diverging from the rest of the support surface in terms of its gradient, over which section an angle of inclination (&#x3b2;) relative to the horizontal plane is smaller than an angle of inclination (&#x3b1;) of the support surface upstream of the same in the advancing direction of the wood chips.

The invention relates to a debarking shaft arrangement for a debarking machine ( ). A number of rotatable debarking shafts ( ) extending parallel to the advancing direction of the logs ( ) are provided with a number of teeth ( ) extending beyond the circumferential surface of the shaft ( ) and adapted to strip bark off the logs transversely to the lengthwise direction of the logs. The teeth ( ) are designed to be effective in both rotating directions of said rotatable debarking shafts ( ), and the debarking shafts ( ) are designed to be reversibly mounted in the debarking machine. Reversible debarking shafts equipped with bi-directionally effective teeth permit renewal of worn teeth on a debarking shaft by reversing the orientation of the shaft relative to the debarking machine.

Arrangement for a debarking shaft

The invention relates to a debarking machine for the debarking of logs and for the expulsion of at least some of the removed bark from a wood flow passing through the debarking machine. The debarking machine having a number of rotating debarking shafts extending parallel to an advancing direction (A) of the logs to be fed therethrough. The debarking shafts are provided with a number of teeth adapted to strip bark off the logs transversely to the lengthwise direction of the logs and at the same time to convey the logs transversely relative to said shafts. The shafts, together with the teeth thereof constitute at least a section of a support surface upon which the logs travel through the debarking machine. For feeding the logs into the debarking machine, its admission end is provided with a conveyor adapted to positively feed the logs through an opening in the admission end of the debarking machine. The feed rate and feed force of the conveyor are preferably regulated.
