Method for the manufacture or repair of a globe valve. The valve housing (1) is assembled by welding out of two or more parts around a closing member (4) shaped as a part of the face of a globe and provided with a flow opening (3), and the shaft (5) of rotation of the closing member is attached to the closing member. Before the shaft (5) of rotation of the closing member is installed in its place, the closing member (4) is turned in the housing (1) so that the point (8) of fastening of the shaft of rotation becomes positioned facing the first flow duct (6) of the housing, and the shaft of rotation is inserted into the closing member through this flow duct (6) and attached to the closing member (b 4). The end of the closing member (4) placed facing away from the shaft (5) of rotation is pressed against the sealing face (7') of the second flow duct (6') of the housing, and this sealing face (7') is ground by means of the end of the closing member, or the end placed at the side of the shaft of rotation is pulled against the other sealing face, and this sealing face is ground by means of the end placed at the side of the shaft of rotation.

Method for manufacture or repair of a globe valve

A valve, which consists of a housing (1) provided with a through flow duct (2); of a closing member (3), which is shaped as a body of revolution or as a part of such body, which has been placed into the housing through an opening (7) provided on the housing, and which is fitted in the through flow duct turnably or rotably; of sealing members (5,6) fitted between the closing member (3) and the housing (1); of a cover (8) that covers the opening (7) in the housing as pressure-proof; of locking and sealing members (9,10,14) for locking and sealing the cover (8) on the housing (1); as well as of sealing members (22) for sealing the turning shaft (21) of the closing member. The cover (8) is supported against the pressure force by means of a stop face (12) placed at the circumference of the opening (7) on the housing and facing towards the interior of the housing. The cover (8) is locked on the housing (1) by means of an annular auxiliary cover (14) fitted outside the cover, said auxiliary cover being attached detachably both to the housing (1) and to the cover (8) and being provided with sealing members (17,18) both between the auxiliary cover (14) and the housing (1) and between the auxiliary cover (14) and the cover (8).

Valve

A valve consisting of a housing (1) provided with a flow-through passage (4), of a closing member (2) having the shape of a rotational body or part of a rotational body and provided with an aperture (6), and turnably disposed in said flow-through passage, and of a sealing member (3) disposed between the closing member and the housing. Between the sealing member (3) and the housing (1) has been arranged an intermediate space (8) in which when the valve is in closed position prevails a pressure urging the sealing member against the closing member (2). From said intermediate space (8) leads a passage (12) to a point close to that portion of the sealing member (3) adjacent to which an aperture communicating with the flow passage is first established when the valve is being opened.
