The present disclosure provides systems that include a flow probe that senses fluid flow or mass flow of fluid delivery to a patient. Based at least in part on the sensed fluid or mass flow, the flow probe provides flow-related data (e.g., volume or mass flow rate) that the system uses to derive a volume of fluid being delivered. The fluid can be delivered from an IV bag, another in-line port, or a combination of the two. The disclosed systems provide fluid volume and/or fluid rate for display to a clinician and an informative understanding of what volume of fluid/mass a patient has received.

Fluid bolus detection

Disclosed is finger cuff that is connectable to a patient's finger to be used in measuring the patient's blood pressure by a blood pressure measurement system. The finger cuff may comprise a fixed shell and a bladder. The fixed shell may have a finger cavity, in which the finger cavity of the fixed shell may be placed around a patient's finger to surround a large portion of the patient's finger including the middle knuckle to reduce finger movement, and in particular, to reduce relative movement between the middle phalanx and the proximal phalanx. Further, the fixed shell includes a support member that extends away from the finger cavity to abut against the underside of the patient's hand to reduce bending of the finger relative to the hand.

Disclosed is finger cuff that is connectable to a patient's finger to aid in measuring the patient's blood pressure. The finger cuff may comprise: a shell, a bladder, and a clamping mechanism. The shell may have a finger cavity. The finger cavity of the shell may be placed under a patient's finger to receive the patient's finger. Further, the finger cavity may include a light emitting diode (LED)&#x2014;photodiode (PD) pair. The bladder may include a pair of openings and the bladder may be mountable within the finger cavity such that the pair of openings surround the LED-PD pair, respectively. The clamping mechanism may be used to suitably clamp the patient's finger received in the finger cavity of the shell against the bladder mounted within the finger cavity of the shell.

Disclosed is a clamp mechanism to assist in attaching a finger cuff to a patient's finger by a medical assistant. The clamp mechanism may comprise a mounting structure including a top portion having a gap, opposed descending sides, an exterior, and a pair of opposed clamping members. The pair of opposed clamping members extend from opposite sides of the exterior of the mounting structure to form a clamping slot over the gap. The clamping slot is openable by the medical assistant to allow for the pulling of the first side and the second side of the finger cuff by the medical assistant through the gap and the opened clamping slot. Further, the clamping slot is closeable by the medical assistant so that the first side and the second side of the finger cuff are clamped together such that the finger cuff is firmly attachable to the patient's finger.
