In one embodiment, a device may obtain sensor measurements from an environmental sensor of an access point. The device may obtain traffic telemetry data regarding network traffic handled by the access point. The device may generate, based on the sensor measurements and the traffic telemetry data, a sampling configuration of the environmental sensor of the access point. The device may cause the access point to collect additional sensor measurements from its environmental sensor according to the sampling configuration.

An example method of wireless data transmission may include selecting a first frequency segment and selecting a second frequency segment that is different from and non-contiguous with the first frequency segment. A plurality of heatmaps may be created associating a plurality of component heat characteristics, of a plurality of components of a device, with a plurality of pre-defined performance trade-off states. Next, a shortest path through the plurality of pre-defined performance trade-off states may be determined. The device may then be placed in successive ones of the plurality of pre-defined performance trade-off states according to the determined shortest path until a Transmit (TX) performance target is met.

The disclosed method is performed by a cloud system for changing a registration of a network access device. The method includes initiating a change of a registration of a network access device. The registration is stored at a cloud system and indicates ownership of the network access device by a first user. The method further includes receiving an authorization from the first user to dissociate the ownership of the network access device by the first user, and receiving an indication of a physical reset occurring locally at the network access device. The physical reset allows the first user to dissociate the ownership of the network access device. The method further includes, upon receiving both the authorization by the first user and the indication of the physical reset, releasing the ownership by the first user of the network access device at the cloud system.

A communication system includes multiple distributed antenna circuits and an access point (AP). The distributed antenna circuits include at least first and second antenna circuits. The AP is coupled to the distributed antenna circuits and includes multiple transmit chains, multiple receive chains, and an antenna control circuit communicatively coupled to the transmit chains and the receive chains. The first antenna circuit is co-located with the AP and the second antenna circuit is remote from the AP. The antenna control circuit is configured to determine a subset of the distributed antenna circuits to communicatively couple to at least some of the transmit chains to transmit data to a wireless station (STA) that is in range of the subset.

Disclosed is a way to expand the range of Internet of Things devices in a home, office, or structure to the range of a local WiFi network. This is accomplished by generating a network bridge for the devices using machine-to-machine protocols to communicate using the WiFi network backhaul channel. Transmissions in machine-to-machine protocol are tunneled through WiFi communications and extracted by the closest access point. Access points include radios for both WiFi and machine-to-machine protocols.
