A network controller and various methods for grouping access points for AFC are presented. A method includes assigning a plurality of access points to a plurality of groups based at least in part on stored AFC reports for the plurality of access points, determining, for each group of the plurality of groups, a centroid and an uncertainty range, and generating, for each group of the plurality of groups, an AFC query using the determined centroid and uncertainty range for the corresponding group.

A method for identifying a location of an (AP) includes receiving a first location measurement associated with a first measurement variant and a second location measurement associated with a second measurement variant from a first AP; receiving a third location measurement associated with the first measurement variant and a fourth location measurement associated with the second measurement variant from a second AP; determining weights associated with the location measurements; determining a first location associated with the first AP and a second location associated with the second AP based on a first weight, a second weight, a third weight, and a fourth weight; determining a confidence of the first location based on a comparison of the first location measurement and the second location measurement.

In one embodiment, a device may obtain sensor measurements from an environmental sensor of an access point. The device may obtain traffic telemetry data regarding network traffic handled by the access point. The device may generate, based on the sensor measurements and the traffic telemetry data, a sampling configuration of the environmental sensor of the access point. The device may cause the access point to collect additional sensor measurements from its environmental sensor according to the sampling configuration.

An example method of wireless data transmission may include selecting a first frequency segment and selecting a second frequency segment that is different from and non-contiguous with the first frequency segment. In an example implementation, the possible operating configurations are learned based on the operating configurations and characteristics of the communication activity when the monitored thermal conditions leave and return the thermal range. Further, the one or more network interfaces of the device can be configured based on service levels for portions of the communication activity in order to regulate the thermal conditions. In some example implementations, instructions can be sent to another device communicating with the networking device to modify communications in order to regulate the thermal conditions.

A plurality of heatmaps may be created associating a plurality of component heat characteristics, of a plurality of components of a device, with a plurality of pre-defined performance trade-off states. Next, a shortest path through the plurality of pre-defined performance trade-off states may be determined. The device may then be placed in successive ones of the plurality of pre-defined performance trade-off states according to the determined shortest path until a Transmit (TX) performance target is met.

Improving radio frequency (RF) performance by optimizing temperature in an access point (AP) ecosystem

A client device is configured to communicate with an access point over a wireless network, exchanging data with the access point over a selected communication channel. After the wireless connection to the access point has ended, the client device receives a probe from the access point over a low-level layer, such as a data link layer. For instance, a series of videos may be examined to collect data on how well security system(s) that are presently employed are working. Each security system can include one or more electronic devices, such as cameras or microphones, and parameters of the electronic devices can be altered to improve the quality of content generated by the electronic devices.

The disclosed method is performed by a cloud system for changing a registration of a network access device. The method includes initiating a change of a registration of a network access device. The registration is stored at a cloud system and indicates ownership of the network access device by a first user. The method further includes receiving an authorization from the first user to dissociate the ownership of the network access device by the first user, and receiving an indication of a physical reset occurring locally at the network access device. The physical reset allows the first user to dissociate the ownership of the network access device. The method further includes, upon receiving both the authorization by the first user and the indication of the physical reset, releasing the ownership by the first user of the network access device at the cloud system.

A communication system includes multiple distributed antenna circuits and an access point (AP). The distributed antenna circuits include at least first and second antenna circuits. The AP is coupled to the distributed antenna circuits and includes multiple transmit chains, multiple receive chains, and an antenna control circuit communicatively coupled to the transmit chains and the receive chains. The first antenna circuit is co-located with the AP and the second antenna circuit is remote from the AP. The antenna control circuit is configured to determine a subset of the distributed antenna circuits to communicatively couple to at least some of the transmit chains to transmit data to a wireless station (STA) that is in range of the subset.
