An amphiphilic block copolymer is disclosed. The amphiphilic block copolymer includes one or more hydrophilic polymers, one or more hydrophobic polymer, and one or more zwitterions. The invention also provides a nanoparticle and carrier including the amphiphilic block copolymer for delivery of water insoluble drugs, growth factors, genes, or water insoluble cosmetic substances.

This present disclosure relates to pharmaceutical compositions for treating tumors using a polymeric micelle encapsulating an anti-tumor drug. The polymeric micelle comprises block copolymers comprising at least one hydrophilic block, at least one hydrophobic block, and at least one zwitterion. The present disclosure also relates to methods of enhancing the solubility of such drugs, methods of increasing the blood circulating time of such drugs, and methods of delivering such drugs to one or more solid tumors.

The present invention relates to a delivery carrier including liposomes or nanoparticles for targeting the cells expressed with somatostatin receptor, consisting of a plurality of liposomes that have one phospholipid bilayer coating, one hydrophilic core and a bioactive substance. The bioactive substance is packaged in the hydrophilic core, or embedded in the phospholipid bilayer, or electrically bound with liposomes as a complex, wherein the phospholipid bilayer coating is conjugated with a plurality of molecules in the outer surface. The molecules recognize the somatostatin receptor in the surface of the target cells and induce receptor-mediated endocytosis.

Delivery carrier for targeting to cells expressed with somatostatin receptors

A liposome formulation for stably incorporating high content of hydrophobic substance is disclosed. The liposome includes two phospholipids with different phase transition temperatures such as saturated and unsaturated phosphatidyl cholines, hydrophobic substances, cholesterol, cholesterol derivatives, antioxidant and hydrophilic polymer-modified lipids such as MPEG-DSPE.

The thermo-sensitive copolymers disclosed here are easy to be implanted into a human body through injection. The biodegradability is greatly improved and the cytotoxicity of the copolymers is low.

Disclosed is an improved method for hemoglobin purification utilizing a novel two-step dual-aqueous-phase extraction technique to separate hemoglobin from red cell membrane stroma and other protein contaminants. In the first step, a first dual-aqueous-phase liquid system is prepared which comprises an upper aqueous phase containing polyethylene glycol in water and a lower aqueous phase containing a phosphate buffer at a pH of about 10. In the second step, a second dual-aqueous-phase liquid system is prepared which comprises an upper aqueous phase, which contains the polyethylene glycol phase containing the hemoglobin extracted in the first step, and a lower aqueous phase containing a new phosphate buffer at a pH of less than 7.5. After the second extraction step, purified hemoglobin solution can then be obtained by removing the phosphate salt and the minute amounts of polyethylene glycol contained in the lower phase.
