The UE receives NRF signals at Nantennas on a first time-frequency resource. The NRF signals carrying L layers of data generated at a base station. Nand L are positive integers. L is greater than N. The UE receives NRF signals at the Nantennas on a second time-frequency resource. The NRF signals carries the L layers of data. Nis a positive integer. The UE obtains Nbaseband signals from the NRF signals. The UE obtains Nbaseband signals from the NRF signals. The UE determines the L layers of data based on the Nbaseband signals and the Nbaseband signals.

Downlink framework for distributed MIMO receivers

Method and UE are provided for scheduling for CCS from SCell to PCell. In particular, a UE can connect to a PCell and a SCell. A CCS is configured between the PCell and the SCell. According to a UE type, the UE can monitor PDCCHs from both the PCell and the SCell in a same slot when the UE is a first type UE, or ignore the PDCCHs from the SCell in the same slot when the UE is a second type UE.

Method and user equipment for cross-carrier scheduling from secondary cell to primary cell

A method of efficient wideband operation for intra-band non-contiguous spectrum using extending bandwidth part (BWP) configuration is proposed. The BWP definition is extended to cluster BWPs to aggregate distributed spectrum blocks within a frequency range (e.g., 200 MHz) by single carrier operation and facilitate UE to filter out the transmission of unknown RAT between any two of the distributed spectrum blocks. In addition, the cluster BWP configuration enables dynamic aggregation of the number and location of the distributed spectrum blocks based on LBT results in unlicensed spectrum. Specifically, the BWP definition is extended to a group of one or multiple radio resource clusters, each of which contains a set of contiguous PRBs in frequency domain within the associated carrier.

Methods of efficient wideband operation for intra-band non-contiguous spectrum

A method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus may be a UE. The UE receives, from a base station, one or more BWP configurations for configuring a plurality of BWPs at the UE. The respective one or more BWP parameters of a set of BWP parameters define each respective BWP of the plurality of BWPs. The UE sends a capability indication indicating that the UE is capable of resetting values of one or more parameters of the set of BWP parameters. The UE sends a subset indication indicating that the UE is capable of resetting values of one or more parameters of a subset of BWP parameters from the set of BWP parameters.

Specialized BWP switch

In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus may be a UE. The UE receives a CORESET configuration specifying one or more properties of a first CORESET. The UE also determines time and frequency resource elements of the first CORESET based on the one or more properties. The UE performs blind decoding on down-link control channel candidates in a search space carried by the first CORESET to obtain a down-link control channel.

A method includes receiving a higher-layer signal from a base station, wherein the higher-layer signal enables the use of 2-stage DCI based cross-carrier scheduling and provides mapping between a scheduling serving cell and one or more scheduled serving cells; receiving a first-stage DCI carried in a PDCCH in a designated time interval in the scheduling serving cell, wherein the first-stage DCI provides the information related to the corresponding second-stage DCI; receiving a second-stage DCI corresponding to the first-stage DCI in a specific set of resource elements in the same designated time interval in the same scheduling cell as the first-stage DCI-based on the information provided in the first-stage DCI, wherein the second-stage DCI provides scheduling information for the scheduled serving cells; and performing data reception or transmission over the scheduled serving cells based on the received 2-stage DCI.

Method for performing 2-stage downlink control information based cross-carrier scheduling in carrier aggregation

A method of two-stage sidelink control information (SCI) for sidelink transmission is described. In one novel aspect, the SCI is transmitted from a transmission UE (Tx UE) to a reception UE (Rx UE) in two stages. In one embodiment, the 1st-stage SCI carries information related to channel sensing, and is transmitted over a physical sidelink control channel (PSCCH). The 2nd-stage SCI is transmitted over a physical sidelink shared channel (PSSCH) associated with the PSCCH. In one embodiment, the first-stage SCI includes priority information or information of time-frequency resources for the SL transmission. In another embodiment, the first-stage SCI indicates time-frequency location of the second-stage SCI.

Two-stage physical sidelink control channel (PSCCH) for sidelink communications

A method of two-stage sidelink control information (SCI) can include receiving a transport block, and transmitting from a transmission user equipment (Tx UE) to a reception user equipment (Rx UE) the transport block with two-stage SCI including a 1st-stage SCI and a 2nd-stage SCI. The 1st-stage SCI can be transmitted over a physical sidelink control channel (PSCCH). The 2nd-stage SCI and the transport block can share resources of a physical sidelink shared channel (PSSCH). The 2nd-stage SCI and the transport block can share a demodulation reference signal (DMRS).

Two-stage sidelink control information for sidelink communications

A new design for physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) is proposed for the next generation 5G new radio systems. A UE receives the configuration of a default control resource set (CORESET) in MIB/SIB from its serving base station. The default CORESET contains both common search space and UE-specific search space for candidate PDCCH transmission. A PDCCH in a default CORESET is mapped to physical resource in a distributed or localized manner. Specifically, various REG-to-CCE mapping rules are proposed to improve frequency diversity gain, or frequency selectivity gain, or to reduce latency of PDCCH processing. Further, to facilitate analog beamforming in mmWave systems, the default CORESET is transmitted in a synchronization signal (SS) block associated with a corresponding analog beam direction.

Physical downlink control channel design for NR systems

Apparatus and methods are provided for efficient bandwidth adaptation for wideband carrier. In one novel aspect, the UE starts a BWP timer upon detecting one or more BWP timer starting triggering events, resets the BWP timer upon detecting BWP resetting triggering events, and switches to the default BWP upon expiration of the BWP timer. The BWP timer starting triggering events comprises decoding a command to switch away from the default BWP, the detection of end of DL data transmission in DRX mode. In another novel aspect, the UE only decodes the DCI indication for active BWP switching in the first three OFDM symbols of a subframe or a slot. In yet another novel aspect, when the SPS is configured for the serving cell for a UE with multiple BWPs, the SPS is configured for all the BWPs accordingly.

Efficient bandwidth adaptation for a wideband carrier

A method includes receiving a higher-layer signal from a base station, wherein the higher-layer signal enables the use of 2-stage DCI based cross-carrier scheduling and provides mapping between a scheduling serving cell and one or more scheduled serving cells; receiving a first-stage DCI carried in a PDCCH in a slot in the scheduling serving cell, wherein the first-stage DCI provides the information related to the corresponding second-stage DCI; receiving a second-stage DCI corresponding to the first-stage DCI in a specific set of resource elements in the same slot in the same scheduling cell as the first-stage DCI-based on the information provided in the first-stage DCI, wherein the second-stage DCI provides scheduling information for the scheduled serving cells; and performing data reception or transmission over the scheduled serving cells based on the received 2-stage DCI.

In one novel aspect, a plurality of synchronization signal (SS) anchors within a block of a contiguous spectrum is configured in a wireless network. Each SS anchor is a primary SS anchor or a secondary SS anchor. The UE performs an initial access by detecting a first primary SS anchor and receives one or more virtual carrier configurations with corresponding SS anchors within the block of the contiguous spectrum. In another novel aspect, the UE performs an initial access through a first RF band with a first bandwidth and a first center frequency, receives a switching signal to switch from the first RF band to a second RF band with a second bandwidth and a second center frequency, the second bandwidth is different from the first bandwidth, and performs a RF bandwidth adaptation from the first RF band to the second RF band based on the adaptation signal.

Efficient wide bandwidth operation and efficient UE-specific RF bandwidth adaptation

A method to use UE as a mobile device relay using PC5 link or sidelink to relay data traffic to/from end UEs for coverage extension is proposed. A relay UE can be the group head UE of a UE relay group including one or more remote UEs. A remote UE can be in-coverage or out-of-coverage of the serving cell served by a serving base station. In a first novel aspect, the network is aware of remote UE existence without direct Uu link. In addition, methods for resource allocation and interference management are proposed. In a second novel aspect, solutions for synchronization of remote UEs on PC5 link, and solutions for connection setup between relay UE and remote UEs on PC5 link are proposed.

Methods of mobile device based relay for coverage extension

A method includes receiving a first higher-layer signal from a base station, wherein the first higher-layer signal enables the use of single PDCCH scheduling PDSCH(s) in two or more serving cells; receiving a second higher-layer signal from the base station, wherein the second higher-layer signal enables the use of cross-carrier HARQ management within the serving cells; receiving DCI in one of the serving cells to obtain the scheduling information of PDSCH(s) in the serving cells; receiving the scheduled PDSCH(s) in the serving cells based on the received DCI to obtain downlink transport blocks carried in the scheduled PDSCH(s); and sending downlink transport blocks to a HARQ entity of the serving cell indicated in the DCI carried in a PDCCH for HARQ management based on a HARQ process number indicated in the DCI carried in the PDCCH.
