A screwdriving tool and an assembly method for screwing in a screw using the screwdriving tool. The screwdriving tool includes a first tool shaft with an end-side screw-engaging portion for transmitting a torque to the screw, and a second tool shaft that is orientable axially with respect to the first tool shaft and in an opposite direction, in such a way that an end-side screw-engaging portion of the second tool shaft lies axially opposite the end-side screw-engaging portion of the first tool shaft. The second tool shaft transmits a compressive force axially to the screw in a direction towards the first tool shaft.

Screwdriving tool and assembly method using a screwdriving tool

An assembly method, a screwdriving tool and a screw kit for screwing a screw into an internal thread of a medical instrument to connect two branches of the instrument to each other so that the branches are pivotable relative to each other. The method includes: impressing a punch geometry into a screw head of the screw by applying an axial compressive force to the screw by the screwdriving tool, and rotating the screwdriving tool relative to the instrument about a screw longitudinal axis to transmit a torque in a positively locking manner from the screwdriving tool to the screw via the impressed punch geometry and to screw the screw into the internal thread.

A medical or surgical instrument, preferably of the pincers, scissors and/or forceps design, includes at least two legs pivoted relative to each other in a pivoting plane and lockable in at least one pivoting direction and in at least one pivoting position. The legs include locking portions adapted to be brought into locking engagement with each other, with the locking portions offset against each other normal to the pivoting plane by such offset that, when the legs are pivoted in the pivoting plane, the locking portions laterally pass each other in the pivoting plane without getting into locking engagement with each other. The medical or surgical instrument is configured in such way that the locking engagement of the locking portions is implemented only by applying a transverse force normal to the pivoting plane to at least one of the legs while cancelling the lateral offset.

A surgical cutting instrument for transapical aortic valve resection includes a cutting unit arranged on the distal end of a tool shaft and at least one mechanical cutting element for making a circular incision. The at least one cutting element can be adapted, in particular continuously adapted to different aortic diameters by means of a radially movable actuating mechanism.

A surgical instrument includes a female instrument part that defines a hollow volume in a coupling region and a male instrument part that forms a guide section in the coupling region. The guide section is configured to at least partially pass through the hollow volume. A pivoting element, which has an upper section, a center section, and a lower section, couples the female instrument part and the male instrument part to each other in such a way that the female instrument part and male instrument part can pivot relative to each other about an axis of rotation of the pivoting element. A lateral upper contact step is formed between the upper section and the center section of the pivoting element and a lateral lower contact step is formed between the lower section and the center section of the pivoting element.

The present application relates to a double blade for a surgical retractor having a base body with a substantially cylindrical mounting mandrel for mounting the double blade on a surgical retractor, and at least two blade elements that are so mounted on the base body as to be rotatable and/or displaceable through at least a certain angular range with respect to the base body. Moreover, the present application relates to a blade arrangement in which a double blade is connected to a connecting element of a further double blade, or a single blade. In this case, the at least one double blade or, optionally, the single blade is rotatable with respect to the connecting element. In addition, the application relates to a retractor with a double blade, a blade arrangement or a blade assembly comprising double blades and a blade arrangement.

A stabilizer for operations on a heart includes a fastening shaft and a tissue contact component with two elongated bearing elements provided on a base section and adapted to be arranged on two opposing sides of a blood vessel such that at least one section of the blood vessel runs between the two bearing elements, wherein the base section is affixed to one end of the fastening shaft. At least one bearing element has a slit extending longitudinally at least over a section thereof. The fastening shaft has an axially proceeding channel which extends at least over a section of the fastening shaft and is connected to at least one connecting channel in the region of the end of the fastening shaft on which the base section is mounted, the connection channel connecting the axially proceeding channel to the surroundings, wherein the axial end of the fastening shaft is closed.

A device for simultaneously identifying a plurality of surgical instruments or instrument groups includes a first detecting device having a first detection technology for detecting instruments and, if applicable, related instrument-specific information. The device also includes a second detecting device having a second different detection technology for detecting instruments and instrument information. Moreover, the device includes a comparing device for comparing the detection results of the two detecting devices. The comparing device outputs a positive evaluation regarding the correctness of the detected instruments if the two detection results are matching.

Device and method for simultaneously identifying a plurality of surgical instruments

The present application discloses an atrium retractor with a plate and a shaft that has a shaft sleeve, an inner rod and an operating mechanism. The operating mechanism is designed to generate a relative movement between the shaft sleeve and the inner rod. An articulation device that is firmly connected either to the plate or the shaft and is detachably connectable to the other from the plate or the shaft is provided in the atrium retractor. The operating mechanism is adapted to optionally lock and release the articulated connection by means of the relative movement between the shaft sleeve and the inner rod.

A surgical device for stabilizing or immobilizing moved tissue or for positioning organs, especially a part of a beating heart, includes a flexible arm, especially a link arm, fixed or fixable to a base member which arm can be brought into different positions and/or attitudes and at the free end of which at least one retaining element is arranged, and comprising a tightening mechanism by which the arm can be fixed at a desired position. The tightening mechanism is tightened and/or released by means of a manually controllable external power source.

The invention relates to a surgical retractor, in particular, for spreading a severed sternum, comprising a first retaining device and a second retaining device, which each have a spreader arm with at least one retaining element held thereon, a holding device for holding the retaining devices on each other, and a drive device with which the distance of the spreader arms from each other along a retraction direction is alterable for transfer to a spread position. In order to provide a retractor of this kind which, having a compact design, is easy to handle, it is proposed in accordance with the invention that the retaining devices each have a holding arm connected to the respective spreader arm, and both holding arms couple with the drive device and be displaceable via the drive device relative to each other and relative to the holding device along a displacement direction.
