A method and apparatus for collecting and supporting querying of multi-dimensional data pertaining to usage of software and/or hardware to service tenant requests in a multi-tenant cloud computing system where the multi-dimensional data is initially captured on a per request basis and recorded in objects of a first type that store data pertaining to a specific request, specific tenant, specific host and specific time. The objects of the first type are combined by time windows to form objects of a second type. The objects of a second type are stored in another system as separate text files. Responsive to a query for multi-dimensional data for a specific tenant that spans an interval of multiple time windows, the objects of the second type for the specific tenant and time interval are combined across all hosts to generate a query result, and the query result is returned.

Collecting and supporting querying of high-cardinality time-series data

Methods, systems, apparatuses, and computer program products are described. A multi-tenant database system may store a set of data logs indicating performance data for multiple tenants of the system. The system may calculate one or more aggregate performance metrics based on performance data for a tenant stored in the logs, where a performance metric of the one or more aggregate performance metrics may be based on design time data for the tenant, runtime data for the tenant, or both. The system may compare the one or more aggregate performance metrics to one or more performance thresholds defined for multiple tenants and may generate scalability scores corresponding to the one or more aggregate performance metrics for the tenant. The system may send, for display at a user interface of a user device operated by a user associated with the tenant, an indication of the generated scalability scores.

Generating scalability scores for tenants using performance metrics

A query may be determined based on data retrieval parameter values. The data retrieval parameter values may include a data type parameter identifying a designated data type of a plurality of data types corresponding with database observability data generated during operation of a database system. The of data retrieval parameter values may also include a designated time period during which to retrieve data associated with the designated data type. A query may be determined based on the plurality of data retrieval parameter values via a collection manager in a database application layer associated with the database system. The query may be executed to retrieve a designated dataset of database observability data corresponding with the designated data type and generated by the database system during the designated time period.

Database system observability data querying and access

Methods, systems, apparatuses, and computer program products are described. A system, such as a multi-tenant database system, may store tenant-specific observability data for multiple tenants of the system. The system may detect an inefficiency related to a performance metric for a tenant of the multiple tenants based on a subset of the data associated with the tenant and corresponding to a threshold time window. In some examples, the system may analyze the subset of the data for the threshold time window to determine an insight indicating a cause of the inefficiency. The system may determine a suggested action for the tenant based on the insight indicating the cause of the inefficiency, and the system may send, for display at a user interface of a user device, an indication of the insight and the suggested action, the user device operated by a user associated with the tenant.

Determining insights related to performance bottlenecks in a multi-tenant database system preliminary class

Methods, systems, apparatuses, and computer program products are described. A database system may store data logs tracking performance data for multiple tenants of the database system. The database system may receive, via a user interface of a user device, a user input indicating a request to perform an analysis of performance data associated with one of the multiple tenants. The request may indicate a time period and a performance metric for the analysis. The database system may execute a query based on the analysis. The query may execute on a subset of the data logs associated with the tenant and the performance metric. The system may analyze a result of the query to determine one or more entities that affected the performance metric during the time period. The system may transmit an indication of the one or more entities for display at the user interface.

Pattern detection for tenant-specific performance data

Systems and methods provide a simple and flexible data access layer for an application. The systems and methods receive, at a data access layer associated with an application, a request for accessing data in memory; identify a pattern of the data of the request; determine whether the data access layer includes a table having a structure of one of key/value pair, sorted set, map, or event that is suitable for accessing the data of the request based on the identified pattern. If the data access layer includes a table with suitable structure, using that table for accessing the data of the request. If the data access layer does not include a table with suitable structure, generating a table having the structure of one of key/value pair, sorted set, map, or event; and using the generated table for accessing the data of the request.

Providing a simple and flexible data access layer

A computer-implemented method of providing content using a request-response protocol is provided. The method comprises storing a data object associated with a key, receiving a first response message from a server containing an invalidate parameter wherein the invalidate parameter includes a pattern that matches the key, and invalidating the stored data object associated with the key in response to the invalidate parameter. A computing system comprising one or more processors and non-transitory computer readable storage medium embodying programming instructions configurable to cause the one or more processors to implement a proxy cache is also provided. The proxy cache is configured to store a data object associated with a key, receive a first response message from a server containing an invalidate parameter wherein the invalidate parameter includes a pattern that matches the key, and invalidate the stored data object associated with the key in response to the invalidate parameter.

In an example, a computing system may include a thread record provider. In some examples, the computing system may incrementally change a first data structure as threads are established and completed, wherein the first data structure comprises first information of currently active threads; incrementally change a second different data structure responsive to a portion of changes of the first data structure, wherein the second data structure correlates second information that is different than the first information to the currently active threads; identifying a plurality of times; and at each selected time, synchronously extracting content from the first and second data structures for a selected thread and concatenating the extracted content to form a record for the selected thread.

Systems, methods, and computer-readable media for increasing program execution time are described. A computer system may implement a warmup engine that may allow defined portions of code to be pre-loaded ('warmed up') for execution before application startup. The warmup engine may include warmup logic that warms up a defined portion of code. The mechanisms that trigger the warmup logic are called 'warmers,' and each warmer may run in a warmer container. The computer system may execute each of the warmers according to a warmer configuration and may also log errors that may occur during warmer execution. In some implementations, an application may not become available during initialization until (or after) the warmup engine executes the warmers and/or warmup logic. Other embodiments may be described and/or claimed.
