Disclosed herein are related to a system and a method of coordinating among artificial reality links. In one approach, a system comprising a first console for executing an application for artificial reality may include a wireless communication interface and a processor. The processor may be configured to send, via the wireless communication interface, a first message comprising a first plurality of parameters and a first schedule for access to a shared wireless channel by the first console, receive, from a second console via the wireless communication interface, a second message comprising a second plurality of parameters and a second schedule for access to the shared wireless channel by the second console, update, responsive to the second message, the first plurality of parameters and the first schedule, and/or send, via the wireless communication interface, a third message comprising the updated first plurality of parameters and the updated first schedule.

Coordination among artificial reality links

Disclosed herein are related to a system and a method of reducing contention in accessing a wireless link. In one aspect, a first device includes a transceiver configured to communicate with a second device via a wireless link. In one aspect, the first device includes a processor configured to determine that a type of content to be transferred between the first device and the second device through the wireless link. In one aspect, the processor is configured to modify one or more parameters for the first device to access the wireless link, from a first set of values to a second set of values, in response to determining that the type of content is artificial reality. In one aspect, the processor is configured to cause the transceiver to access the wireless link using the second set of values.

EDCA optimization for artificial reality links

A device implementing unified coordination of wireless communications over multiple physical layers may include a MAC module communicatively coupled to first and second physical layer modules that are each configured to communicate with another device over first and second physical wireless channels, respectively. The MAC module may be configured to provide data to the first physical layer module for transmission to the another device over the first physical wireless channel, where the first physical wireless channel is associated with a first link parameter. The MAC module may be further configured to facilitate initializing the second physical wireless channel based at least in part on the first link parameter of the first physical wireless channel, and after initialization of the second physical wireless channel, provide second data to the second physical layer module for transmission to the another device over the second physical wireless channel.

Unified coordination of multiple physical layer devices

Disclosed herein are related to a system and a method of enforcing fairness in airtime utilization among devices including artificial reality devices. In one approach, a system as a first device may be configured to monitor, via the wireless communication interface, a wireless channel. The processor may be configured to determine information about other devices using the wireless channel. The processor may be configured to determine a target share of the wireless channel for use by the first device in communicating data for the artificial reality, according to the information about the other devices using the wireless channel. The processor may be configured to access, via the wireless communication interface, the wireless channel according to (1) the target share of the wireless channel and (2) a combined level of usage of the wireless channel by the first device and the other devices.

Enforcing fairness in airtime utilization among devices including artificial reality devices

Disclosed herein are related to a system and a method of time alignment in an AR/VR environment. In one approach, a device including a console or head wearable display (HWD) may determine a wireless transfer window corresponding to a wireless data transmission between the HWD and the console. The device may determine one or more first processes to be performed by the device to enable the wireless data transmission. The device may schedule the one or more first processes according to the wireless transfer window. The device may perform the wireless data transmission within the wireless transfer window responsive to the one or more first processes.

Time alignment for wireless AR/VR

A device implementing unified media access control (MAC) for multiple physical layer devices may include at least one processor communicatively coupled to first and second physical layer modules that are configured to communicate with another device over first and second wireless channels, respectively. The at least one processor may be configured to receive one or more data items to be transmitted to the another device and to select at least one of the first or second physical layer modules for transmission of the one or more data items based at least in part on a first condition of the first physical wireless channel and a condition of the second physical wireless channel. The at least one processor may be further configured to provide the one or more data items to the selected at least one of the first or second physical layer modules for transmission to the another device.

Unified media access control (MAC) for multiple physical layer devices

A system of codeword puncturing for varying code rates may include at least one transmitter circuit. The at least one transmitter circuit may be configured to perform error correction coding to generate codewords at a first code rate. The at least one transmitter circuit may be further configured to puncture a number of bits from a location within each of the codewords to implement a second code rate that is greater than the first code rate. The at least one transmitter circuit may be further configured to provide the punctured codewords for transmission. The device may further include at least one receiver circuit that may be configured to receive bit sequences comprising received punctured codewords. The at least one receiver circuit may be further configured to insert bits into the bit sequences to compensate for the puncturing and perform error correction decoding on the bit sequences including the inserted bits.

Codeword puncturing for varying code rates

A device for specifying service combinations in pre-association discovery includes at least one processor. The at least one processor may be configured to determine at least one combination of services of interest. The at least one processor may be further configured to encode the at least one combination of the services of interest. The at least one processor may be further configured to generate a pre-association request message that includes identifiers of the services of interest and the encoded at least one combination of the services of interest. The at least one processor may be further configured to transmit the pre-association request message. The encoded at least one combination of the services of interest may be represented, for example, in a canonical sum-of-products form, a canonical product-of-sums form, a sum-of-positive-products form, or an any m of n form.

Specifying service combinations in pre-association discovery

A device implementing an unscheduled power save mode with peer notification may include at least one processor that may be configured to receive, from a network coordinator device, an acknowledgement of a request to enter an unscheduled power save mode. The processor may be further configured to, responsive to receipt of the acknowledgment, transmit an indication of entering the unscheduled power save mode to at least one other device of the network and then enter the unscheduled power save mode. While in the unscheduled power save mode, the processor may be configured to receive, from the network coordinator device, an acknowledgement of a request to exit the unscheduled power save mode. The processor may be further configured to exit the unscheduled power save mode responsive to the acknowledgment, and transmit an indication of exiting the unscheduled power save mode to the at least one other device of the network.

A device implementing unified media access control (MAC) for multiple physical layer devices may include a MAC module communicatively coupled to first and second physical layer modules that are configured to communicate with another device over first and second physical wireless channels, respectively. The MAC module may be configured to receive one or more data items to be transmitted to the another device and to select at least one of the first or second physical layer modules for transmission of the one or more data items based at least in part on a first wireless link quality of the first physical wireless channel and a second wireless link quality of the second physical wireless channel. The MAC module may be further configured to provide the one or more data items to the selected at least one of the first or second physical layer modules for transmission to another device.

A wireless communication device (alternatively, device) includes a processing circuitry configured to support communications with other wireless communication device(s) and to generate and process signals for such communications. In some examples, the device includes a communication interface and a processing circuitry, among other possible circuitries, components, elements, etc. to support communications with other wireless communication device(s) and to generate and process signals for such communications. A device communicates with other devices informing them of energy, power, etc. management operation (e.g., with respect to low power or sleep mode). When the device receives responses from each of the other devices that they are informed of the operation of the device, then device performs such energy, power, etc. management. Alternatively, when response(s) are not received from all of the other devices, the device performs such energy, power, etc. management after a period of time (e.g., number of beacon intervals (BIs)).

Power management for personal BSS control point (PCP)

A device implementing low latency packet forwarding may include at least one processor circuit. The at least one processor circuit may be configured to receive a packet, retrieve routing information from the packet prior to performing an integrity check on the packet, and prepare to transmit the packet based at least in part on the routing information. The routing information may be in the form of, for example, a tag, a label, or a segment, and the routing information may be retrieved from at least one of a preamble, a PHY header, or a MAC header. In the case of the preamble, the information retrieved may be used to both perform channel estimation and route the packet. In multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO) and/or channel aggregation implementations, at least a portion of the preamble of each stream (or channel) can be combined to form the routing information.
