A method is provided for contactless optical detection of yarn at a workstation of a textile machine. The yarn moves in a sensing slot between a radiation source and an optical sensor having at least one row of radiation sensitive elements. Shading of the individual radiation sensitive elements by yarn moving through the slot is monitored and a state of the yarn is evaluated based on the monitoring, which includes monitoring and evaluating a position of the yarn in the sensing slot or a time course of the position of the yarn in the sensing slot. A change is detected in the position or in the time course corresponding to a yarn break before an end of the yarn break passes through the sensing slot. When the yarn break is sensed, a stop signal is generated for the workstation.

Method of contactless optical detection of yarn at a workstation of a yarn manufacturing textile machine, an optical sensor of yarn and a textile machine

A method controls a device configured on a textile machine, wherein the device is one or both of (1) a sensor of physical quantities having a primary function in a primary operating mode to detect a state at a workstation of the textile machine; or (2) an optical signaling device having a primary function in a primary operating mode to provide visual information about a state of a workstation, group of workstations, or the textile machine. The method includes targeted switching of the device to a secondary operating mode wherein the device performs a secondary function that is different from the primary function. After performance of the secondary function, the device is switched back to the primary operating mode.

Method of controlling an optical element at a workstation of a textile machine, especially a yarn manufacturing machine, and a textile machine

A method is provided for adjustment of a textile machine workstation based on yarn parameters measured by an associated yarn quality sensor at the work station. The method generates a first reference value of a selected yarn parameter by measurement of the yarn parameter or by calculation, wherein the first reference value is generated from the yarn parameter for a deliberately defective yarn intentionally produced at the workstation. The method then compares a current value or second reference value of the yarn parameter for yarn produced at the workstation of production quality or higher-than-production quality to the first reference value.

Method of adjustment of a workstation and a yarn clearer (yarn quality sensor) on a yarn manufacturing textile machine

A method is provided for monitoring at least one yarn quality parameter and/or a parameter of a sensor by an electronic cleaner of yarn by means of an optical detector comprising a sensor with one or two rows of individual optical elements. The individual optical elements provide at their outputs an analog signal proportional to the intensity of its irradiation, the value of which is monitored during each measurement cycle. In the first and/or the second row of optical elements of the sensor, for each monitored parameter, individual optical elements of the sensor, are selected constituting an active zone for monitoring a particular parameter. The number of the optical elements in one active zone in one row is lower than the overall number of the optical elements in the corresponding row, and the output analog signal of the individual optical elements of the corresponding active zone is included in the evaluation of the particular parameter.

Method for monitoring at least one parameter of quality of yarn and/or parameters of sensor by electronic yarn cleaner

A CMOS optical detector includes a plurality of optical elements for a device for detecting parameters of moving yarn or another linear textile formation on textile machines by means of a perpendicular projection of yarn onto individual optical elements of a sensor with the aid of one source of radiation. The optical elements are arranged in two parallel rows perpendicular to the direction of the movement of the projection of yarn. Each optical element produces an output analog signal corresponding to the intensity of its irradiation. The individual optical elements of the first row are oriented to have their longer sides in the direction of the movement of the projection of yarn, whereas the optical elements of the second row are oriented to have their longer sides perpendicular to the direction of the movement of the projection of yarn.

CMOS optical detector with a plurality of optical elements for device for monitoring parameters of a moving yarn on textile machines

A method and sensor are provided for monitoring the quality of yarn by an electronic cleaner of yarn by means of an optical detector having a sensor with one or two rows of individual optical elements that are rectangular-shaped and have analog outputs. Each of the optical elements has a photodiode and an amplifier of its output signal. The amplifier has a variable amplification, whose size is modified according to the required sensitivity of a respective optical element to light.

Method for monitoring quality of yarn by electronic yarn cleaner and detector for carrying out the method

A method of spinning-in yarn on an operating unit of a rotor spinning machine includes steps of yarn preparation for spinning-in, steps of spinning rotor preparation for spinning-in, and final spinning-in steps. The final spinning-in steps include at least the beginning of the sliver supply to the singling-out device, leading of the fibers from the singling-out device away from the spinning rotor for a predetermined time interval, letting the spinning-in yarn end get into contact with the collecting groove of the spinning rotor, and starting of the yarn draw-off and winding. At least some final spinning-in steps are time synchronized in relation to the closing of the spinning unit thus obtaining optimum piecer quality repeatedly at all operating units of the machine.
