Proposed is a network node () for a mesh network (). The network node comprises a processing unit () adapted to determine an indicator of reliability of the network node. The network node also comprise a control unit () adapted to configure the network node to operate in either a router configuration or an end-node configuration based on the determined indicator of reliability of the network node. The network node may thus adapt its configuration based on its reliability.

Mesh network node

The present invention provides a connected device system, comprising a master network device () and a device () to be integrated into the connected device system (). The connected device system is adapted to connect the master network device and the device via a wireless network (). When being added to the wireless network, the device announces itself in the wireless network and provides an upgrade server in the wireless net-work. The upgrade server makes available for retrieval a digital asset indicative of a characteristic of the device. The master network device detects the device in the wireless network based on the announcement, searches for the upgrade server of the device in the wireless network in response to the detection of the device, and retrieves the digital asset from the upgrade server of the device. This leads to an improved way of integrating the device into the connected device system.

Connected device system

Methods, systems and computer-readable media or provided for implementing a proxy for a legacy lighting control component. A lighting unit () may be polled for data indicative of a lighting state of the lighting unit. It may be determined that the lighting state of the lighting unit corresponds to a predetermined lighting state. A predetermined lighting scene triggered by transition of the lighting unit into the predetermined lighting state may be identified, and one or more other lighting units may be caused to implement the predetermined lighting scene. In some embodiments, a user interface may be operable to create an association between a legacy switch or sensor () that controls a first lighting unit () and a predetermined lighting scene to be implemented at least in part by a second lighting unit (-), e.g., leaving a direct association between the first lighting unit and the legacy switch or sensor transparent to a user.

Proxy for legacy lighting control component

Methods and apparatus for resetting of an apparatus to a factory new state are disclosed. For example, some aspects of the disclosure are directed to monitoring the position of a user interface element (AAB) of a lighting apparatus () and resetting the lighting apparatus to a factory new state based on the monitored position. Also, for example, some aspects of the disclosure are directed to monitoring a power signal associated with the lighting apparatus, and resetting the lighting apparatus to a factory new state based on the monitored power signal.

Resetting of an apparatus to a factory new state

A lighting system device for a pre-configured lighting system (), wherein the lighting system device is coupled directly with at least one further lighting system device in the pre-configured lighting system () based on configuration data associated with the lighting system device and the at least one further lighting system device, the lighting system device further configured to: store the configuration data associated with the lighting system device and the at least one further lighting system device such that it is not deleted on performing a reset; receive a reset input; cascade the reset input to any coupled lighting system devices within the pre-configured lighting system package; reset the lighting system device; and determine and register the lighting system device on a central control unit (), such that the central control unit () is configured to access the configuration data and restore a pre-configured lighting system functionality.

Configuring a network connected lighting system

A vehicle entertainment system is described for reproducing and displaying information and control options. It comprises means for information reproduction () and user operating means for selecting one of the control options. There is a primary display () arranged in the front of the vehicle and at least a secondary display () for the rear seat passengers. Information adapting means () adapt the information to be displayed on the primary display () to a limited version including the control options. A full version of the information is displayed on the secondary display. In this way, the driver can control the system without being too much distracted by the information and the rear seat passengers see the complete version of the information.

System and method for reproducing and displaying information

A device seamlessly records real-time information on a record carrier in a track on a recording layer via a beam of radiation. The device has a real-time information buffer and an interface for transfer of real-time information and commands between a source and the recording means. While recording the real-time information, the device detects () an inability to write information on the record carrier for a period exceeding () a local realtime information buffering capacity of the real-time information buffer. If so, a stop command is sent () to the source for temporarily interrupting the transfer of real-time information. After the device detects that said inability has ended (), a resume command is sent () to the source for resuming the transfer of real-time information. Hence seamless recording is provided without a need for a large buffer, in particular in the event of a layer jump when recording on a multilayer optical disc.

Seamless recording of real-time information

A method and a device generate a DVD-Video compatible data structure from still pictures so as to create a slide show, where the data structure is compatible with the DVD+RW and DVD+R specifications. In one embodiment, a set of Nvideo object units (VOBUs) is generated for each still picture, where each of the VOBUs include one video picture derived from the original still picture and a video gap. The video pictures of the NVOBUs only differ by their time stamps. Consequently, the DVD-Video compatible data structure is easy and fast to author. The DVD-Video compatible data structure has a low bitrate, and the presentation time of each picture can be adapted by setting the number Nand/or the length of the video gap.
