A system for object localization in an indoor environment, such as a passenger cabin of a vehicle or an aircraft, includes a wireless communication infrastructure to facilitate wireless communication within the indoor environment via a wireless communication network and including at least one wireless access point to provide user devices access to the wireless communication network within the indoor environment. The wireless access point is adapted to acquire signal propagation data of wireless signals transmitted over the wireless communication network along multiple propagation paths. A computing element is configured to analyze the signal propagation data and extract localization data from the signal propagation data, the localization data specifying the position of objects located within the indoor environment.

System and method for object localization in an indoor environment

Systems and methods for routing data packets in mobile ad-hoc networks. An interest packet is sent from a data consumer to a data producer via multiple intermediate routing devices. The interest packet is transmitted from one routing device to the next routing device based on the geographic position of the routing devices and the interest message carries information about the links and network nodes it passes when being transmitted. The data packet is transmitted from the data producer to the data consumer the same path in the reverse order. In case one of the intermediate nodes is not available anymore, due to the mobile nature of the ad-hoc network, an opportunistic forwarding strategy is applied.

Multipath geographic routing protocol

Systems and methods for allocating data transmission resources in a data network with a plurality of access points (AP). A first AP sends a discovery message including an identifier of a destination AP to all available neighbor APs of the first AP. The discovery message is forwarded by all APs to other neighbor APs. Each AP adds an identifier to the discovery message to create a list of visited APs for each discovery message. When a discovery message arrives at the destination AP, the destination AP selects a plurality of paths through the data network based on the data carried by the discovery message, and triggers a message passing system to setup resources for a first data transmission class while sending a reservation message the reverse direction through the data network.

Message passing system for the allocation of resources in data networks

A network system includes access points and wireless devices. Each wireless device can exchange data with at least one access point that includes a diversity matrix defining at least two data exchange connections between a first wireless device and at least one access point for exchanging data between the first wireless device and the at least one access point. The diversity matrix indicates a space domain with at least one access point, a frequency domain with at least one data transmission frequency value, and a time domain with at least one data transmission time. Each data exchange connection is defined by an access point, a data transmission frequency, and a data transmission time, selected from the diversity matrix. The at least two data exchange connections between the first wireless device and the at least one access point are configured to transmit the same information.

Diversity control for multi-access wireless networks

Systems and methods for data scheduling and queuing. A data network node is configured to transmit data in a store-and-forward fashion. The data network node includes a delay and validity determination module that determines and assigns a validity value to each data packet incoming via an input port based on a time stamp of the data packet, a current time value, an expected delay on a route of the data packet to its destination, and a packet urgency value. A scheduling module and a queue managing module execute their functions based on the validity value assigned to a data packet in a transmission buffer.

Data validity based network buffer management system

A routing device for forwarding data packets in a data network is described. The routing device establishes a communicative connection with multiple other such routing devices that implement the same functions. A data network includes multiple routing devices as described herein. In that data network, each routing device implements and applies a proactive approach with routing tables in a stable part of the data network, and a reactive approach in an unstable part of the data network. When a packet is transmitted from a stable part of the data network to an unstable part of the data network (or vice versa), the forwarding approach is changed along the path of the packet. Thus, the routing device and the data network mitigate the effect of overhead of proactive routing approaches and the latency of reactive routing approaches.

Hybrid ad-hoc routing protocol

A wireless network includes access points with at least pairwise overlapping wireless coverage, each access point including an OFDMA modulation system and a channel scheduler coupled to the OFDMA modulation system configured to set up a number of virtual wireless interfaces of the access point, each virtual wireless interface being associated with a dedicated set of subcarriers within the OFDMA spectrum. At least one first of the virtual wireless interfaces is configured to host all communication links between the access point and local mobile clients to the access point. A least one second of the virtual wireless interfaces is configured to host communication links between the access point and one of the neighboring access points.

Methods, systems and devices for wireless communications based on OFDMA digital modulation schemes

Systems and methods for resolving names in a data network. A data network includes an information-centric network layer, ICN-layer, with multiple routers, and a name resolution layer with multiple name resolvers. Each router receives an interest packet announcement describing data objects provided by a data producer. Each router determines a first name resolver of the name resolution layer closest to the data producer and sends a name of the provided data object and geo-location of the data producer to the first name resolver. The first name resolver transmits the name of the data object and geo-location of the data producer to other name resolvers. Each router receives an interest packet request describing a data object requested by a data consumer. Each router transmits the interest packet request to a second name resolver spatially closest to the data consumer. Each name resolver provides the geo-location of the requested data object to the data consumer.
