A method of and a receiver for mitigating multipath interference in a global navigation satellite system. In accordance with an embodiment, GNSS signals are received from a plurality of satellites in at least two frequency bands. A likelihood indicator is determined which is indicative of how likely the received GNSS signals are affected by multipath interference. In response to the likelihood indicator, all GNSS signals from at least one frequency band of the at least two frequency bands are discounted. The received GNSS signals are processed by taking into account said discounting of all GNSS signals in the at least one frequency band. The discounting may include assigning less weight to the discounted frequency bands or disregarding each of the discounted frequency bands in their entirety.

Method of and receiver for mitigating multipath interference in a global navigation satellite system

Methods, devices, systems, media, and receivers for processing GNSS signals are described. One aspect of the present disclosure provides a method for processing satellite signals of a Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), the method comprising: receiving a first GNSS signal transmitted in a first GNSS operational band by a satellite of the GNSS and a second GNSS signal transmitted in a second GNSS operational band by the satellite; tracking the first GNSS signal; generating, from the tracking of the first GNSS signal, tracking parameters for the first GNSS signal; and decoding, at least based on the tracking parameters for the first GNSS signal, the second GNSS signal, wherein the first GNSS operational band is one of L1 band, L2 band or L5 band, and the second GNSS operational band is L6 band.

Methods, devices, systems, media, and receivers for processing GNSS signals

A method for positioning a wireless communication device includes storing position data relating to one or a plurality of reference areas to at least one database. It is examined which of said reference areas is located in the vicinity of the wireless communication device, and at least position data about the reference area located in the vicinity of the wireless communication device is retrieved for the wireless communication device. In order to perform the positioning, the method further includes selecting the reference area located in the vicinity of the wireless communication device as the default position of the wireless communication device.

A method for updating a data base which includes positioning data and identity information of a cell, the method comprising receiving a position of a device and receiving identity information of a cell. The data base is examined to find parameter information relating to the received identity information. The parameter information is retrieved from the data base. It is determined whether the data base is to be updated with the position data of the device, wherein if it is determined that the data base is to be updated, the updating of the data base is performed by using the position data of the device and the value of an updating parameter is updated.

A method, corresponding apparatus and corresponding system for determining a dynamical quantity of a receiver of signals conveying information useful in estimating the dynamical quantity, the method including the steps of: providing a single-point solution, by solving for the dynamical quantity of the receiver using a single-point solution having as an input the information useful in estimating the dynamical quantity being determined; providing a plurality of filter solutions (such as predictive filter solutions), and each assuming a different motion model for the receiver; and combining the plurality of filter solutions to provide a first value of the dynamical quantity based on weights that take into account the likelihood of the suitability of each motion model, with the likelihood determined on the basis of agreement of the first value of the dynamical quantity compared with a second value of the dynamical quantity as indicated by a single-point solution.
