A slip cover for a sofa or love seat is disclosed. The slip cover is adjustable in a number of ways to give a good fit for a range of sofa sizes and configurations. Vents are formed in the sides of the back covering portion to accommodate the presence or absence of arms for the seating piece. The seat portion has overlapping sides to fit a range of seat sizes. Front and back skirts are used to wrap the periphery of the sofa piece, thus covering the overhanging sides of the seat portion, the front and back skirts themselves overlapping and being adjustably secured with ties and binding extensions. Arm pieces, where needed, are separate from the back/seat portion of the covering, are adjustable by tucking any excess fabric behind the ruffle seam, and are secured to the legs of the sofa piece.

Slipcovers are provided for covering a variety of seating structures. The slipcovers can include a fabric sheet, multi-layered components, extensions, anchors, relaxation mechanisms, and holders, and can be configured to cover all or a portion of a seating structure. The multi-layered components can be removably secured to the fabric sheet by decouplable fasteners or by friction or interaction with a friction enhancing material, non-removably secured to the fabric sheet by sewing, quilting, tufting, gluing, and/or applying an adhesive or bonding agent, or secured to the fabric sheet by extensions inserted into a crevice. The internal layers of a multi-layered component can also be removable, or a multi-layered component can be configured to allow additional layers to be inserted.

Process for antiquing a quilt and resulting product includes providing a first fabric panel containing at least some of a first selected fiber, a second fabric panel containing at least some of a second selected fiber and a batting panel containing at least some of a third selected fiber. At least the first panel and its fiber is colored and susceptible to damage by washing. The three panels are layered and stitched together using thread of a fourth selected fiber and along a pattern to form a whole cloth quilt or fabric therefore can be used as is or as material for another product. Washing the quilt in a wet bath and with heat and agitation causes at least the first fabric panel to wear and fade and the quilt is then dried and has the antiqued appearance.
