A heat exchanger system includes a core structure with an oil flow path configured to receive an oil flow. The heat exchanger system also includes a fuel flow path included in the core structure and configured to receive a fuel flow. The fuel flow path is coupled to the oil flow path to allow the fuel flow to receive heat from the oil flow in the oil flow path. Also, the heat exchanger system includes a supplemental airflow path defined at least partly by the core structure and configured to receive a supplemental airflow that receives heat from at least one of the oil flow and the fuel flow.

A rotary valve system includes a first body having a first plurality of fluid channels. The first fluid channels have a common first inlet to receive a fluid and a first outlet. The system includes a second body coupled to the first body. The second body has a second plurality of fluid channels. The second fluid channels have a second inlet and a second outlet. The system includes a plate assembly having a plate coupled between the first body and the second body. The plate is movable between at least a first, open position in which the first outlet of at least one of the first fluid channels is in fluid communication with the second inlet of at least one of the second fluid channels and a second, closed position in which the second inlet of each of the second fluid channels is substantially completely obstructed by the plate.

Rotary plate valve systems

A compressor system is provided with an impeller disposed to rotate in a compressor chamber. A diffuser extends around the impeller to collect fluid leaving the impeller. Main flow is discharged from the diffuser through an exit providing an opening that extends circumferentially around the compressor. A bleed annulus extends around the compressor and has a consistent cross-sectional area. A bleed port that opens the diffuser to the bleed annulus and that is configured to divert a bleed flow of the fluid from the main flow before discharge through the exit. The bleed port has a circumference around the compressor and a flow size that varies around the circumference. Variation in the flow size of the bleed port maintains a uniform flow distribution around the exit.

An inflatable evacuation slide includes a flexible slide surface that is supported by longitudinal main support members. Illumination of the slide surface is provided by a plurality of illumination sources that are supported above the upper surface of the main support members on inflatable stanchions that extend upward from the upper surface of the main support members. The plurality of illumination sources may be high efficiency light emitting diodes or other high efficiency light sources. By providing an illumination source that is elevated above the upper surface of the main support members, a greater portion of the slide surface can be illuminated without shadows.

An inflatable evacuation slide system ( ) is selectively deployable in either a foreshortened or lengthened configuration. The foot end ( ) of the escape slide ( ) includes a compartment ( ) containing an extensible slide portion ( ) stored in an undeployed condition. The compartment is sealed by means of conventional speed lacing ( ) held together by a single master loop ( ). A pyrotechnic cable cutter ( ) is attached to the master loop ( ) to severe it at the appropriate time thereby releasing the extensible portion of the slide. A control circuit ( ) determines whether to deploy the extensible portion based on input from a non-contacting electronic sensor ( ) such as an inclinometer.

Extensible evacuation slide

The present invention comprises an inflatable over-the-wing evacuation slide having a readiness indicator the meaning of which is intuitively obvious to an untrained person. In one embodiment, the slide is provided with an inflatable guard rail attached to the side margins of the inflatable walking surface. Attached to the side of the inflatable guard rail in a position that is clearly visible from the aircraft exit doorway is a visual readiness indicator. In one embodiment, the visual readiness indicator comprises a conventional red, octagonal &ldquo;stop&rdquo; sign that is releasably mounted to the guard rail. The stop sign is removed (to indicate that it is safe to proceed) when the evacuation slide has properly deployed by means of a connected to toe end of the evacuation slide. As the evacuation slide unfurls, the lanyard is paid out until, at the last stage, when the toe end unfolds the lanyard pulls the stop sign off the guard rail, so that it is no longer visible to a disembarking passenger.
