An inkjet print device includes a maintenance device wherein a mesh system and a waste liquid receiver are mounted. The liquid is applied during maintenance on the top of the mesh system and a waste liquid receiver receives the liquid dripping from the back of the mesh system. The mesh system is characterized by including a liquid spreading mesh.

An ink circulation system includes a supply subtank for supplying ink to an ink jet print head and a return subtank returning the ink not ejected by the ink jet print head. A print circulation path links the supply subtank with the ink jet print head and the return subtank for providing a print flow of ink from the supply subtank to the ink jet print head, the return subtank, and back to the supply subtank. A degas circulation path links the supply subtank with a through-flow degassing unit for providing a degas flow of ink from the supply subtank to the through-flow degassing unit and back to the supply subtank. The ink circulation system improves the degassing quality of the ink supplied to the ink jet print head of a printing apparatus is provided.

Ink degassing for circulating ink supply systems in ink jet printers

An ink circulation system for use in an inkjet printing apparatus includes an inkjet printhead, an ink supply path for supplying an ink to the inkjet printhead and an ink return path for returning ink not used for printing from the inkjet printhead. The ink return path is coupled to the ink supply path for replenishing the ink supply path with the ink returned from the printhead. The coupling establishes an ink circulation circuit. The ink circulation circuit can be replenished with fresh ink from a main tank, as ink is withdrawn by the printhead for printing. In the circulation system an active through-flow ink degassing unit is provided to control the dissolved gas level of the ink in the ink circulation system.

Ink rejuvenation system for inkjet printing

An ink supply system for feeding ink from an ink cartridge to an inkjet printer includes a dry-break valve system and two coupling elements. Preferably use is made of a hollow tappet rod as a coupling element. The valves in the system are automatically opened in a single action during coupling without introduction of air into the system. The system allows for a high volume ink flow and prevents leakage from the ink cartridge and the printer due to pressure changes.

Ink supply system

A wiper assembly is used to mount large size wiper blades for use in industrial inkjet printers. In order to provide an even wiping action over the length of a print head the wiper is sideways clamped in a rigid wiper blade holder and held in place by a clamping block. Preferably the wiper assembly clamps the wiper over about 20% of the wiper height. The assembly allows for use of individual wiper blades having different characteristics. Separate wiper blades are more easily fabricated and can be replaced easily. The wiper blades may be provided with a heel which enhances mounting efficiency. The wiper assembly may include provisions for easy mounting to allow for rapid exchange of the whole wiper assembly in a printer.

Wipers of a wiper assembly in an inkjet printer are coated with an anti-wetting coating on at least one side so that, due to the anti-wetting properties, less ink adheres to the side of the wiper, the wiper needs less cleaning, and the wiper is less worn by scraping. Preferably the anti-wetting coating contains a fluoropolymer or the coating is silicone based. In order to provide wiping efficiency, the tip of the wiper can be left uncoated.

An ink tank and a print head are mounted on a carriage for supplying ink to an inkjet print. The ink tank includes: one or more ink chambers, where each of the ink chambers includes one or more functional elements (1) symmetrically arranged, mounted and centered about a center plane of the respective ink chamber, and (2) positioned perpendicular to a direction of movement of the carriage. The functional elements include, for example, a feed outlet for feeding ink to the print head, a supply inlet for supplying ink to the ink chamber, an ink movement damper, an ink level sensor, a vacuum inlet to extract air from the ink chamber, and a re-flow inlet to allow re-flow of air bubbles from the print head to the ink chamber.

After purging an inkjet print head, large drops are formed on the nozzle plate of the inkjet printer. In order to provide sufficient wiping before printing, drops are first removed by skimming the print head. A skimmer, such as a wiper of A wiping system, just touches the drops that are drained from the print head.

A method for cleaning the nozzle plate of an inkjet printhead includes the steps of: providing a solvent on the nozzle plate; loosening debris collected on the nozzle plate by brushing the nozzle plate in the presence of the solvent with a brush; applying a cleaning solvent to the nozzle plate, and subsequently removing the cleaning solvent and debris from the nozzle plate by vacuum cleaning. Application of the cleaning solvent and the subsequent removal of the cleaning solvent provides a movement of solvent over the nozzle plate.

An ink jet printer including an ink-supply system having: a lower ink container, an upper ink container, a liquid droplet deposition apparatus with nozzles, wherein an ink circulator is provided for circulating ink from the lower container to the upper container and from the upper container through the liquid droplet deposition apparatus (a printhead) back into the lower container and wherein the upper container, having a bottom and side walls and containing ink forming an ink surface, has a first compartment with an inlet for ink wherein the inlet contains a flow guiding device for avoiding directional flow of the ink towards the ink surface and a second compartment, separated from the first one by a partition placed between the first and second compartments so that the two compartments communicate only in a lower part of the upper container.

The device comprises a housing (10) having a powder inlet opening (12) in an upper face (13) thereof. A dust shield (14) upstands from the upper face (13) adjacent said powder inlet opening (12). A movable box (16) for accommodating a bag (18) containing powder has an open end (20). Co-operating guides (22, 24) provided respectively on the housing (10) and on the box (16) constrain movement of the box (16) between a first position in which the open end (20) is closed by the dust shield (14) and a second position in which the open end (20) mates with the powder inlet opening (12) to allow powder from the bag (18) to fall through the powder inlet opening (12). Thereby, discharge of the powder contents of a flexible material bag can be achieved in a convenient manner.

Video gain and offset, sync gain, and sync threshold can be adjusted electronically. A variable time delay can be imposed on the sampling clock signals and on horizontal reference signals.
