A device has a first and second PPD sensor configured for placement over an artery; a camera between the first and second PPD sensors; and a processor having memory with firmware for determining pulse transit time (PTT) between the PPD sensors, and determines blood pressure (BP) therefrom using a calibrated conversion from PTT to BP. The firmware also obtains initial and subsequent images of the artery, extracts features, and adjusts calibrated conversion from PTT to BP based upon features extracted from the initial and subsequent images of the artery. In embodiments the processor enhances the initial and subsequent images of the artery using a structured light tomographic enhancement process. A method uses first and second PPD sensors placed over an artery to determine pulse transit time; obtains initial and subsequent images of the artery with a camera; and uses features extracted from the initial and subsequent images of the artery to adjust a calibrated conversion from PTT to BP.

A method includes capturing an image from a scene with an image sensor. The image sensor has a plurality of spectral pixels and a plurality of image pixels. The method also includes collecting gathered data from the spectral-imaging array based on the light received. The gathered data is separated into spectral pixel data and image pixel data. The spectral pixel data is provided by the spectral pixels and the image pixel data is provided by the image pixels. The method includes both generating spectral information of the image based on the spectral pixel data and generating image information of the image based on the image pixel data.

A method for detecting spoof fingerprints detected using an optical fingerprint sensor includes detecting large-angle light incident on a plurality of anti-spoof photodiodes, wherein the plurality of anti-spoof photodiodes is interleaved with a plurality of imaging photodiodes, determining an angular distribution of light based at least in part one the large-angle light, and detecting spoof fingerprints based at least in part on the angular distribution of light.

Optical fingerprint sensor with spoof detection and associated method

A method for detecting spoof fingerprints detected using an optical fingerprint sensor and polarization includes controlling a display of an electronic device to output a pattern of light to illuminate a fingerprint sample touching the display; blocking smaller-angle light from impinging a plurality of anti-spoof photodiodes of the pixel array; filtering larger-angle light incident on the plurality of anti-spoof photodiodes to at least one polarization direction; detecting the larger-angle light using the plurality of anti-spoof photodiodes; correlating the larger-angle light with the pattern of light; determining the fingerprint spoofing based at least in part on the correlation of the larger-angle light and the pattern of light; and wherein the plurality of anti-spoof photodiodes is interleaved with a plurality of imaging photodiodes such that each anti-spoof photodiode of the plurality of anti-spoof photodiodes is between adjacent imaging photodiodes of the plurality of imaging photodiodes.

Method of detecting spoof fingerprints using an optical fingerprint sensor and polarization

A method for detecting spoof fingerprints with an under-display fingerprint sensor includes illuminating, with incident light emitted from a display, a target region of a fingerprint sample disposed on a top surface of the display; detecting a first scattered signal from the fingerprint sample with a first image sensor region of an image sensor located beneath the display, the first image sensor region not directly beneath the target region, the first scattered signal including a first portion of the incident light scattered by the target region; determining a scattered light distribution based at least in part on the first scattered signal; and identifying spoof fingerprints based at least in part on the scattered light distribution.

Systems and methods for optical imaging are disclosed. An optical sensor for imaging a biometric input object on a sensing region includes a transparent layer having a first side and a second side opposite the first side; a set of apertures disposed above the first side of the transparent layer; a first set of reflective surfaces disposed below the second side of the transparent layer configured to receive light transmitted through the first set of apertures and to reflect the received light; a second set of reflective surfaces disposed above the first side of the transparent layer configured to receive the light reflected from the first set of reflective surfaces and to further reflect the light; and a plurality of detector elements positioned to receive the further reflected light from the second set of reflective surfaces.

Disclosed is a device for optical sensing, comprising: a display comprising a transparent substrate and a plurality of light emitters disposed above the transparent substrate; a transparent cover layer disposed above the display, wherein a top surface of the transparent cover layer provides an input surface for sensing an input object; and, an angled filter disposed below the transparent substrate of the display, wherein the angled filter is configured to allow light within a tolerance angle of an acceptance angle to pass through the angled filter, wherein the acceptance angle is centered around a non-zero angle relative to a normal of the input surface.
