An illustrative example system for developing an autonomous vehicle response includes a simulator that provides an at least visual simulation of a plurality of different situations that may be encountered while driving, a driver input device that allows the driver to respond to the simulation of the plurality of situations in a manner consistent with the driver's driving response to the situations, respectively, and a compute device including at least one processor and data storage associated with the processor. The compute device is configured to determine a profile of the driver based on information from the driver input device regarding the driver's driving responses to the simulation of the situations. The profile is at least temporarily stored in the data storage. The profile provides information for controlling the autonomous vehicle response to an actual situation corresponding to at least one of the simulated situations.

A system and method for instructing rendering of a video sequence, the method being carried out on a first device and comprising: receiving video content from a camera; determining a video sequence, the video sequence comprising a selection of the received video content and one or more video assets, wherein each video asset is associated with an identifier; determining instructions for generating the video sequence, the instructions comprising the identifiers of the one or more video assets; and sending the instructions and the selection of the received video content to a second device, wherein the second device is arranged to render the video sequence.

An illustrative example embodiment of a system for assisting a driver with personal items includes a plurality of detectors that detect a signal from a transmitter that has been previously associated with a personal item; and a processor configured to: determine at least one characteristic of a journey, receive an indication from at least one of the detectors regarding a detected signal, identify a personal item and determine its location based on the detected signal, provide an indication if the determined location is different than an expected location based on the at least one characteristic of the vehicle journey, determine whether at least one other personal item is expected to be located based on the at least one characteristic of the vehicle journey, and provide an indication that the other personal item is expected but not detected.

Vehicle based system for managing personal items

An illustrative example embodiment of a system includes a plurality of device chargers configured to charge a power source of a portable electronic device. At least one transmitter is associated with a portable electronic device. A plurality of detectors are configured to be supported on a vehicle. The plurality of detectors detect a wireless signal from the transmitter. A controller utilizes information from the detectors regarding a detected wireless signal and determines a location of the transmitter relative to the plurality of device chargers. The controller controls at least a selected one of the device chargers to operate in the charging mode based on a proximity between the determined location of the at least one transmitter and the predetermined location of the selected one of the device chargers.
