One or more embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a two-way loudspeaker design that forces a condensed geometry between low frequency (LF) and high frequency (HF) drivers and then 'floats' a midrange waveguide in front of the LF driver. This is a hybrid design meant to benefit from the close proximity of acoustic centers without introducing a central axis obstruction for the LF driver. In addition, the LF and HF waveguides and associated acoustic elements are used to redirect very low frequency energy not supported adequately by the LF waveguide to exit freely using other paths.

One or more embodiments of the present disclosure utilize two distinctly different radiation devices aimed in the same direction to create a derived acoustic radiation pattern. The radiation devices may be distinctly different in terms of the acoustic radiation pattern each radiation device generates individually. The derived acoustic radiation pattern is unique to the individual acoustic radiation patterns of either of the two radiation devices. Manipulation of several key design variables allows a multitude of unique patterns to be derived in this way using only the two radiation devices. In turn, this allows for engineering an acoustic radiation pattern to match the unique geometry of a room.

Acoustic radiation pattern control

A surface mounted loudspeaker design is provided that mitigates the interference between direct low frequency (LF) energy and reflected LF energy by breaking the LF energy from an LF driver into multiple paths using one or more of waveguides, driver load plates, and enclosure ports to diffuse the reflected energy and minimize frequency response errors. One or more embodiments of the present disclosure provides a loudspeaker have multiple acoustic exits strategically designed and located to generate, for example, three major wave front arrivals&#x2014;2 source and 1 reflection&#x2014;at target angles with favorable lag times, mitigating the cancellation notching and frequency errors that occur in conventional loudspeaker designs.

An insulated drinking cup for a heated beverage, and a warmer for maintaining the cup and beverage at an elevated temperature suitable for drinking. The cup includes a heat-conductive inner liner having a base portion and a wall portion, surrounded by a thermally nonconducting insulating sleeve. The warmer includes a heating element for direct contact with the bottom portion of the inner liner. The sleeve of the cup includes an inner shell and an outer shell, and an open annular region therebetween which insulates the interior of the cup, and which also receives heat from the warmer when supported thereon.
