Searching encrypted data using encrypted contexts by performing at least the following: configuring a first encryption context that allows access to a first encrypted field, configuring a second encryption context that allows access to a second encrypted field, assigning the first encryption context to a first role and the second encryption context to a second role, assigning the first role to a first user account to allow the first user account to access the first encrypted field, assigning the second role to a second user account to allow the second user to access the second encrypted field, receiving a query request associated with the first user account for a search term, wherein the query request includes instructions to search for an unencrypted version of the search term and a first encrypted value of the search term that is based on the first encryption context.

Searching for encrypted data within a cloud based platform

When multiple backup database instances most recently experienced an update is determined. If a most recently updated backup database instance was updated within a defined time period of one or more other backup database instances, a source instance for cloning is selected as the backup database instance that satisfies at least one of a physical or logical proximity criteria relative to a designated database instance. If a difference in update times is greater than the defined time period, e.g., for the two most recent backup database instances, the source instance for cloning is selected to be the most recently updated backup database instance. Cloning to a target instance is performed using the selected backup database instance as a source instance as long as preparatory operations all pass. If not, the source databases are used for the cloning while still being accessible to clients.

A computing system may involve a time-series server device and computing devices. The time-series server device may be configured to: receive and store pre-defined trigger configurations; receive and store time-series data, wherein the pre-defined trigger configurations define states and/or state transitions for the received time-series data; apply, by way of a trigger engine, the pre-defined trigger configurations to the received time-series data to determine observed states and/or state transitions in the time-series data; and store, in transition storage, representations of the observed states and/or state transitions. One or more applications operating on computing devices may be configured to: transmit the pre-defined trigger configurations to the time-series server; transmit a stream of the time-series data to the time-series server; and repeatedly poll and receive, by way of a plurality of worker threads, the representations of the observed states and/or state transitions from the transition storage.

In a distributed computing system, cloning operations determine when each of multiple backup database instances most recently experienced an update. If a most recently updated backup database instance was updated within a prescribed time period of one or more other backup database instances, a source instance for cloning is deemed to be one of these database instances satisfying a prescribed proximity criteria relative to a designated database instance. If a difference in update times is greater than the prescribed time period for the two most recent backup database instances, the source instance for cloning is deemed to be the most recently updated backup database instance. The control center conducts cloning to a target instance using the selected backup database instance as a source instance.
