A method transmits a message by radio from a transmitter to a receiver. In a first step, the transmitter transmits the message to a forwarding station. In a second step, the message is subsequently transmitted at the same time from the transmitter and the forwarding station to the receiver. A transmitter carries out the method.

Method and device for allocating channels in a CDMA radiocommunications system

In a method according to the invention, N data symbols of a subscriber signal form a block. In a first method step, the block is divided into a plurality of partial blocks having Ns data symbols. The Ns data symbols are then allocated to sub-carriers and are modulated in parallel onto the various sub-carriers, the modulation being carried out for each of the sub-carriers with at least one individual code symbol. The sub-carriers are heterodyned to form a broadband carrier, so that the Ns data symbols are transmitted simultaneously. The transmission then takes place in N/Ns successive partial blocks via the radio interface.

Method and transmitting device for transmitting data symbols from subscriber signals via a radio interface of a mobile communications system

In a method for data transmission in a radio communications system, a radio interface is subdivided into time slots for a transmission of bursts. In this case, the data are transmitted in data channels in a time slot, in which data channels can be distinguished by use of individual spread codes. A finite burst containing data symbols and at least one midamble with known symbols is used for data transmission in a data channel. At least one parameter is determined for the traffic conditions of the radio interface, and a ratio of a length of the midamble and a data part with data symbols is adjusted depending on the traffic conditions. The method is suitable in particular for use in 3 generation TD/CDMA mobile radio networks.

A method for estimating a channel from received signals transmitted via the channel, includes the steps of receiving the received signals with receiving sensors of a receiving device. The received signals are composed of a plurality of subscriber signals. The subscriber signals are marked with transmitter-specific fine structures. A subscriber signal of the plurality of subscriber signals is transmitted by a plurality of wave elements having differing incidence directions at a receiving point. An incidence direction of at least one of the wave elements is obtained in the receiving device. Directionally selective channel impulse responses are determined from the plurality of received signals and the incidence direction of the at least one wave element.

Method for channel estimation from received signals transmitted via a radio channel

Data is transmitted via a radio interface in a radio communications system in that at least one subscriber signal is transmitted, which has an individual fine structure applied to it and, in addition to data symbols in data sections, contains a midamble with known symbols. The fine structures of the data sections and of the midamble differ. At the transmission end, a sum signal is produced which contains signal sections to which different fine structures are applied. The sum signal is filtered in at least one transmission filter and is transmitted via a transmission channel to a receiving radio station. A control device controls the addition so that different attenuation of the signal sections is compensated for by the filtering. The method is suitable, in particular, for mobile stations having a single or variable data rate, and for base stations for use in 3rd generation TD/CDMA mobile radio networks.

Signals in the form of wave elements of one or more subscriber signals are received at a receiving device assigned a number Ka of receiving sensors and the direction of the signals is estimated. Ka received signals are received via the receiving sensors and are composed of at least one subscriber signal which has a transmitter-specific fine structure impressed on it. A k,subscriber signal, with k&equals;1 . . . K, is transmitted by means of Kd wave elements whose directions of arrival at the receiving location differ. Channel impulse responses assigned to the Ka receiving sensors are determined from the received signals, and the direction of arrival of at least one wave element is determined from the channel impulse responses. The direction estimation can advantageously be used in mobile radio, radar, sonar or seismic measurement systems.

Method for direction estimation

In a signal transmission system for broadband signals wherein the transmitting transducer and/or the receiving transducer has a non-isotropic radiation characteristic, properties of the received broadband signal, for example waveform shape, spectrum, duration and probability density function, depend on the alignment orientation of the transducers. A discriminator circuit is provided in the receiver for identifying or estimating parameters related to one or more of such properties as a measure of alignment orientation of the transducers. The invention can be utilized, for example, in noise-suppressing radio frequency message transmission systems wherein band spreading modulation (spread-spectrum-system) results in transmission of a much greater bandwidth than a conventional transmission of the message baseband frequencies.

Wirelessly functioning signal transmission system

A receiving circuit for an interference-suppressing communications system having a narrow-band conventional message modulation and additional pseudo-noise phase shift keying (PN-PSK), has a pseudo-random generator whose pseudo-random sequence is identical to the pseudo-random sequence provided by the system transmitter. The pseudo-random generator actuates a phase-shift keying element to cancel the phase shift modulation produced at the transmitter. A matched filter or correlation network for correlation of the pseudo-random sequence at the receiver with the pseudo-random sequence contained in the received signal is provided. The message modulation impairs the function of the matched filter or the correlation network. The degrading influence of message modulation is to be eliminated, at least, reduced. To this end, a demodulation circuit is provided which receives the entire received signal and the signal present after removal of the phase-shift keying to provide an input for the matched filter or correlation network. This signal only exhibits the pseudo-noise phase-shift keying contained in the received signal, but no longer has the message modulation.
