A displacement pump includes an electrically powered drive having a drive housing. The drive is at least partially disposed in the drive housing and is configured to provide reciprocating linear motion to a diaphragm. The diaphragm is captured between an adaptor mountable to the drive housing and a fluid cover. The adaptor includes an inner mounting portion interfacing with the drive housing and an outer mounting portion interfacing with the diaphragm. Multiple adaptors having multiple outer mounting portion diameters can be mounted to the same drive housing. Each of the multiple adaptors have the same inner mounting portion configuration to mount to the same drive housing. The adaptors can mount to the drive housing in multiple orientations while the fluid cover can mount to the adaptor in a single orientation.

A drive system for a pump includes a housing and a fluid displacer and a reciprocator configured to mechanically displace the fluid displacer through respective suction strokes. The housing and fluid displacer define an internal pressure chamber configured to be filled with a working fluid having a charge pressure. The internal pressure chamber is configured such that the working fluid exerts the charge pressure on the fluid displacer during both the suction stroke and a pressure stroke of the fluid displacer.

The rotor is connected to the fluid displacement member to drive axial reciprocation of the fluid displacement member. A controller controls operation of the motor based on an operating state of the motor to control pumping by the displacement pump.

A displacement pump has multiple gas compression stages and serial gas flow through the compression stages. The gas is initially compressed in a first compression stage by a first fluid displacement member. The gas from the first compression stage flows to a second compression stage. The gas in the second compression stage is compressed by a second fluid displacement member and output from the pump.

A drive system for a pump includes a housing, first and second fluid displacement members, and a reciprocating member configured to mechanically displace the first and second fluid displacement members through respective suction strokes. The housing and fluid displacement members define an internal pressure chamber configured to be filled with a working fluid having a charge pressure. The internal pressure chamber is configured such that the working fluid simultaneously exerts the charge pressure on the first and second fluid displacement members.

A method of displacing fluid includes pulling a pump displacement member through a suction stroke with a pull, the pull configured to transmit only tensile forces to the fluid displacement member. A working fluid disposed in an internal pressure chamber drive the fluid displacement member through a pumping stroke. The pull is prevented from transmitting any compressive forces to the fluid displacement member, such that the pull does not drive the fluid displacement member through the pumping stroke.
