A cryogenic pump manifold with subcooler and heat exchanger. The manifold comprises an inlet header with a subcooler disposed around it and a heat exchanger on the inlet side of the inlet header and subcooler. An expansion device is disposed between the inlet header and subcooler, and some liquid is diverted from the header and evaporated into a gas through the expansion device thereby lowering the temperature of the expanded gas which provides significant cooling to the cryogenic liquid entering the suction of the pump. An ejector may be positioned in the exhaust line from the heat exchanger to increase the flow rate, resulting in even more cooling. The cooling improves the overall performance of the pump and increases the ambient temperature range of operation of the pump. A method of cooling cryogenic liquid entering the suction of a pump is also disclosed.

Cryogenic pump manifold with subcooler and heat exchanger

An improved commingling chamber for the distribution and pressure equalization of a thermodynamic working fluid used in a recirculating liquid type heat transfer processing system. The improved commingling chamber includes a volumetric chamber generally defined by a vessel wall, a top portion of the chamber, a lower portion of the chamber having a side wall. The lower portion terminates into a base preferably having an outlet port located therein. At least one inlet port and outlet port are located in the vessel wall. A conduit having a first end attached to at least one inlet port and being of sufficient length and configuration to vector incoming fluid toward the base outlet port, and a flow through region between a terminating end of the conduit means is provided to form a flow path between fluid exiting the conduit and the volumetric chamber. Alternative embodiments for accommodating multiple inlet ports and outlet ports are disclosed.

Fluid commingling chamber for nitrogen processing unit

A burner apparatus comprising: a liquid fuel discharge means for discharging a liquid fuel; an ignition chamber wherein an ignitable gaseous composition can be ignited to yield an ignited composition; and a gas delivery means for delivering a gaseous, free oxygen source and a combustible gas to the ignition chamber such that the ignitable gaseous composition is provided in the combustion chamber. The ignition chamber is positioned with respect to the liquid fuel discharge means such that, upon leaving the ignition chamber, the ignited gaseous composition will ignite the liquid fuel as the liquid fuel is discharged from the discharge means. Preferably, the gas delivery means includes a conduit through which the free oxygen source is conducted into the ignition chamber. The gas delivery means also preferably includes a passageway, adjacent the exterior of the conduit, through which the combustible gas is conducted into the ignition chamber. The gas delivery passageway preferably substantially surrounds the oxygen source delivery conduit. Additionally, the liquid fuel discharge means preferably discharges the liquid fuel into a combustion chamber substantially having an inverted frusto-conical shape.
