An expandable frame () for a carrying article is disclosed. A frame () for an expandable article of luggage () includes a first frame member () including a first recess (), a second frame member () including a second recess (), and a gusset () extending between the first frame member () and the second frame member () to secure the first frame member () to the second frame member (). A first edge () of the gusset () is received in the first recess () in the first frame member, and a second edge () of the gusset () is received in the second recess () in the second frame member (). An article of luggage () including the expandable frame () is disclosed. In some embodiments, an expandable frame () does not include the first frame member and the gusset () is secured directly to a first hard shell () of an article of hard shell luggage ().

Expandable luggage

A configurable shell () for a configurable article of luggage () is disclosed. The configurable shell comprises a first panel () and four side panels (), an outer frame subassembly (), an inner frame subassembly (), and a central frame subassembly (). The frame subassemblies define a frame. The frame and the panels are configurable in length, width, and depth to provide the configurable shell (). Two configurable shells can be joined together to provide the configurable article of luggage ().

Luggage including modular luggage frame

A strap attachment device includes a strap connector configured to attach to a strap and a connecting plate secured on the surface of an article such as a bag or suitcase. The strap connector includes a connector post configured to removably engage and be secured by a locking member located beneath the connecting plate. The locking member is biased into a closed position by a mechanical biasing means, such as a spring. The connector post may include a flanged end configured to partially disengage the locking member causing the flanged end to mate with and be secured by the locking member responsive to being inserted into the connecting plate. A pull tab is further disposed on a pull track within the connecting plate. A user can disengage the connector post from the locking member by moving the pull tab along the pull track.

A piece of luggage comprises a front shell, a rear shell, and a frame assembly configured to hingedly secure the front shell to the rear shell. The frame assembly including a front frame sub-assembly configured to be secured to the front shell and a rear frame sub-assembly configured to be secured to the rear shell. Each of the front frame sub-assembly and the rear frame sub-assembly including a plurality of frame members and a plurality of corner members.

Modular suitcase frame

A telescopic suitcase handle is provided for including a telescopic handle housing disposed within a suitcase, a lower extendible handle section movably disposed within the telescopic handle housing, and an upper extendible handle section movably disposed within the lower section. A spring loaded bullet disposed within the upper section releasably engages with one of a plurality of openings along the length of the lower section for temporarily holding the upper extendible handle section in place. A spring-loaded protrusion releasably engages with the lower extendible handle section for temporarily holding the lower section in place.

Telescopic suitcase handle

Embodiments of the present disclosure generally relate to double-sided wheel assemblies and methods thereof. In one embodiment, double-sided wheel assembly is provided that may comprise a wheel member comprising a first wheel; a second wheel; and a center member disposed between the first wheel and the second wheel, the first wheel and second wheel adapted to distribute the load of the luggage; a wheel carriage for supporting the wheel member; and a wheel support base adapted to couple with the wheel carriage.

Double-sided wheel assembly and methods thereof

A checkpoint-friendly backpack for allowing a laptop computer stored in a dedicated portion thereof to provide a clear, unobstructed, and distinct image thereof when X-ray screened at an inspection station without having to remove the laptop computer from the dedicated portion. The backpack includes a dedicated compartment and a non-dedicated compartment. The non-dedicated compartment stores items other than the laptop computer. The dedicated compartment stores only the laptop computer itself, is hingedly attached to the non-dedicated compartment at a common edge, is free of metallic snaps, zippers, and buckles, is free of pockets, and has a non-screening mode where it is replaceably fastened in side-by-side relationship to the non-dedicated compartment by a non-metallic zipper so as to facilitate unfastening the dedicated compartment from the non-dedicated compartment, and a screening mode where it is unfastened from the non-dedicated compartment and unfolded therefrom to lie unobstructed, flat, and substantially coplanar with the non-dedicated compartment on the inspection station so as to allow the laptop computer stored in the dedicated compartment to provide the clear, unobstructed, and distinct image thereof when X-ray screened at the inspection station without having to remove the laptop computer from the dedicated compartment.

Checkpoint-friendly backpack

An article of luggage is provided for comprising a first layer of hard shell and a second layer of hard shell material with one or more ornamental substrate disposed between at least the first layer of hard shell material and at least the second layer of hard shell material. A section of hard shell material may be formed by pressing and/or heating at least the first layer of hard shell material, the second layer of hard shell material, and the ornamental substrate together.
