The invention relates to a process for preparing a cyclic siloxane copolymer, a water repellent composition and the use for treating porous substrates like concrete, especially reinforced concrete.

Process of preparing a siloxane copolymer

The invention provides a water repellent composition for treating porous substrates comprising an emulsion which includes water, at least one surfactant, and a siloxane copolymer having the formula (I) wherein R is an alkyl radical having 1 to 3 carbon atoms; a has a value of from 1 to 12; R' is an alkyl radical having 8 to 12 carbon atoms, b&#x2267;2; (a+b) is at least 5. This composition shows a good depth of penetration of porous substrates especially reinforced concrete and has a low Volatile Organic Content to ASTM D 5095. 

Water repellent for concrete

Personal care compositions containing pituitous silicone fluids compositions are disclosed. The silicone fluid compositions contain certain branched and/or high molecular weight organopolysiloxanes that demonstrate pituitous rheological behavior. When formulated into personal care compositions, the silicone fluids provide enhanced sensory and film-forming properties based on their pituitous rheological properties.

Pituitous silicone fluids

Fluid compositions are disclosed containing a branched organopolysiloxane and a carrier fluid. The branched organopolysiloxane is obtainable by reacting an organohydrogencyclosiloxane and an alkenyl terminated polydiorganosiloxane. The disclosed fluid compositions possess pituitous rheological properties.

Gel compositions containing a silicone elastomer from the reaction of an organohydrogensiloxane having at least two SiH containing cyclosiloxane rings in its molecule, a compound having at least two aliphatic unsaturated hydrocarbon groups in its molecule, and a hydrosilylation catalyst. The silicone elastomer reaction product may itself be a gelled composition, or optionally may be contained in a carrier fluid to form a gel. The gel compositions may further contain a personal or healthcare active. The actives may be incorporated into the gel via either a pre or post load method.

Silicone elastomer gels

A composition containing (A) a compound having at least one aliphatic unsaturation; (B) a cyclic organohydrogen-silicon crosslinking compound containing at least one silicon-bonded hydrogen atom (Sift) per molecule, prepared by a platinum catalyzed coupling reaction of a methylhydrogen cyclosiloxane, with a reactant containing aliphatic unsaturation, hydroxy functionalities, or a mixture of both; and (B1) a linear or branched acyclic organohydrogensilicon Crosslinking compound containing at least one silicon-bonded hydrogen atom per molecule. The composition can be used to prepare release coating compositions by adding (C) a platinum group metal-containing catalyst. Release coating compositions containing Components (B) and (B1) have better cure, better adhesion, and lower release forces, than release coating compositions containing only Component (B).

Release coating compositions having improved release force profiles

A method comprising heating in the presence of a catalyst, a mixture comprising (i) a reaction product obtained by mixing in the presence of a platinum group metal-containing catalyst at least one organohydrogensilicon compound containing at least one silicon-bonded hydrogen atom per molecule and at least one compound having at least one aliphatic unsaturation; (ii) at least one endblocker, and optionally (iii) at least one organosiloxane chosen from a hydrolyzate or a cyclosiloxane, so to cause polymerization of components (i), (ii), and optionally (iii) to form branched polymers.

Branched polymers from organohydrogensilicon compounds

This invention relates to a method comprising (1) heating in the presence of a catalyst a mixture comprising (i) at least one organohydrogensilicon compound containing at least one silicon-bonded hydrogen atom per molecule or a reaction product obtained by mixing in the presence of a platinum group metal-containing catalyst at least one organohydrogensilicon compound containing at least one silicon-bonded hydrogen atom per molecule and at least one compound having at least one aliphatic unsaturation, (ii) at least one endblocker, and optionally (iii) at least one organosiloxane chosen from a hydrolyzate or a cyclosiloxane, so to cause polymerization of components (i), (ii), and optionally (iii) to form silicon-bonded hydrogen containing branched polymers.
