A powder actuated fastening tool including a charge advance apparatus for advancing a powder charge strip relative to a barrel of the tool, wherein the charge advance apparatus includes a rotatable ratchet having teeth for engaging receptacles formed in the powder charge strip, and a charge advance member coupled to a trigger of the tool, wherein the charge advance member acts on the rotatable ratchet to rotate the ratchet in response to actuation and/or release of the trigger, such that the rotation of the ratchet causes advance of the powder charge strip relative to the barrel.

A reinforcement module can include a first endplate having notches, a second endplate having notches, a spacing member in contact with the first endplate and the second endplate, and wires looped around at least one of the notches of the first endplate and around at least one of the notches of the second endplate.

Modular concrete reinforcement

A self-aligning coupling device for installation in a channel having an open end and a pair of substantially parallel side walls. The device includes an elongate connecting portion having a longitudinal axis, a channel abutment portion, and at least one laterally projecting lug. In use, the coupling device is installed in the channel with the channel abutment portion located at least partially within the channel and the laterally projecting lug located outside the open end of the channel. The channel abutment portion is formed such that when aligned in a first angular position within the channel it abuts the side walls of the channel to prevent rotation of the device in a first rotational direction about said longitudinal axis, while allowing rotation in a second, opposed rotational direction. The lug is formed such that in said first angular position it extends beyond at least one of the side walls of the channel. When the coupling device is retracted into the channel while simultaneously applying a torque to rotate the device in said first rotational direction towards said first angular position, the channel abutment portion abuts the side walls of the channel thereby aligning the lug to extend beyond at least one of the side walls of the channel and preventing the coupling device from being fully retracted into the channel. Various methods and apparatus for applying suitable translational and rotational forces to the self-aligning coupling device, and to form adjustable clamp assemblies, are also provided.

Clamping assemblies

The invention relates to a reciprocating engine and a working fluid inlet system therefore. The engine includes at least one cylinder with a reciprocating piston therein and a variable volume expansion chamber capable of receiving a working fluid via an inlet valve. The inlet system includes a pilot valve having an open condition and a closed condition. In the open condition, the secondary fluid passes therethrough to act on the inlet valve. The system also includes an actuating means for controlling the condition of the pilot valve. The inlet valve is adapted to open in response to the action of the secondary fluid. The engine may also include exhaust means, possibly by porting in the piston and a cylinder wall. The working fluid may be used as the secondary fluid.

Reciprocating engine and inlet system therefor

The present application includes a vehicle mirror which includes an approach light in the attachment assembly. The approach light is a single light source positionable in relation to predetermined inputs for directing light to various areas, depending on the inputs. Additionally, an intercom system is provided for communication between the interior of the vehicle and exterior of the vehicle, by way of the vehicle mirror. Also, a remote sensor is utilized to set predetermined memory positions of interior vehicle components such as seats, steering columns and brake pedals. This allows customization of the interior components upon an individual's approach to the vehicle.

An adjustable clamp assembly () includes an elongated connection member () and a gear assembly (). The gear assembly includes a rotatable first gear member having an axis of rotation substantially perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the connection member (). The gear assembly also includes a second gear member cooperatively engaged with the first gear member. The clamp assembly further includes a first clamp member (). The elongated connection member (), the gear assembly () and the first clamp member () are arranged such that rotation of the first gear member results in a linear motion of the first clamp member () parallel to the longitudinal axis of the connection member ().

Clamping assembly

A minor parking mechanism for an exterior rear view mirror that rotates a mirror head to a parked position. The mechanism has a mirror mounting bracket, a mirror head pivotally connected to the mirror mounting bracket so the mirror head can rotate from a deployed position to a parked position. A detent acting between the mirror mounting bracket and the mirror head to lock and unlock the mirror head. A spring acts against and locks the detent in position. A worm drive in the mirror head moves longitudinally along a shaft and rotates about an axis to act against the spring, which in turn reduces the spring force applied to the detent to enable it to disengage whereupon continued rotation of the worm drive causes the mirror head to rotate.

Mirror parking mechanism

A control system for a cogeneration unit, the cogeneration unit including a heat engine and an alternator, driven by the heat engine, which generates AC electricity for an electrical load. The control system includes a parameter sensing means for sensing one or more parameters, and providing a sensed parameter value for each sensed parameter. For each sensed parameter, a comparator means compares the sensed parameter value with a respective desired value and provides an error signal according to the difference between the sensed parameter value and the desired value. One or more controlling means use the one or more of the error signals to provide a plurality of control signals, such that each control signal is able to regulate one or more of the controlling characteristics of the alternator and a temperature of a body heated using energy from the cogeneration unit.

Control system for a cogeneration unit

This invention relates to a retraction and extension mechanism for extending or retracting a set of telescopic supports that connect a mirror head ( ) to a mirror mounting bracket ( ). It comprises a mirror mounting bracket ( ) with a first tube ( ) projecting from the mounting bracket ( ). The mirror head ( ) has a support ( ) projecting from it that locates into and slides back and forth within the first tube ( ). Retraction and extension mechanism for a vehicle rear vision mirror

This invention relates to hydraulic suspension systems and in particular to vehicle oleopneumatic suspension systems employing sliding pillar struts. There is provided a suspension system for a vehicle comprising a plurality of suspension struts, each mounted between a vehicle body and a wheel assembly, each including a cylinder having a closed end and an inner bore; a piston rod slideable within the inner bore having a proximal end which terminates within the inner bore and a distal end which extends from the inner bore. Between the inner bore and the piston rod there is mounted an oil seal which seals a strut volume. A hydrostatic bearing is mounted within and vents into the strut volume. A hydraulic circuit and associated control system is adapted to control flow of hydraulic fluid between the strut volume and a reservoir, thereby providing control of at least the time-averaged axial position of the piston rod relative to its corresponding inner bore.

Hydraulic suspension system

This invention describes a mirror operating mechanism for rotating a mirror head from a deployed position to a parked position. The mirror head (,) is mounted to a mirror mounting bracket (,) via a spigot (,) on the mounting bracket. The mirror head (,) is supported on a mounting bracket (,) for rotation with respect to the spigot (,). At least one detent (,) is placed between the mirror mounting bracket (,) and the mirror head (,) to hold the mirror head (,) in the required position. Resilient means (,) acts between the mirror mounting bracket (,) and the mirror head (,) with respect to the detent (,) so that the detents (,) are held in engaged positions. Drive means is operatively coupled to the spigot (,) to cause the mirror head (,) to rotate with respect to the spigot (,). The drive means includes an actuator (,or,) that is moved upon initial operation of the drive means while the detents (,) resist rotation of the mirror head (,). The actuator (,or,) movement applies a force to the resilient means (,) to in turn compress it and to allow movement of the mirror head (,) so that the detents (,) may disengage to thereby allow rotation of the mirror head (,) by the drive means. The advantage of the invention is that the drive means does not require excessive force to disengage the detents (,). This results from the operating mechanism first disengaging the detent (,) before requiring the drive means to rotate the mirror head (,).
