Method for setting up telephone-to-telephone calls using telephones connected to a PSTN/ISDN access network and using a separate packet-switched network as a by-pass network, wherein telephone gateways (GW) provide bridges between the access network and the by-pass network, and connections are established between a calling party (A) telephone and a first gateway (GWa) and between a second gateway (GWb) and a called party (B) telephone. The method includes the steps of: dialing, by a calling party (A) in a one-step procedure, a by-pass network service prefix together with the number of a called party (B), wherein the by-pass network service prefix includes an IN-service prefix; and analyzing the by-pass network service prefix to identify the relevant IN service for thereby routing the call to an IN node which can execute the IN service, the IN service establishing a call to a first gateway (GWa) selected from one of a plurality of gateways (GW), whereby the first gateway is made service transparent to the calling party (A).

Method relating to a telecommunication system

A method and an apparatus manually route incoming calls in a network in which an individual subscriber may be reached by the same telephone number on a number of different terminals, depending on, e.g., the type of incoming call and the time of day. An incoming call is automatically directed to one telephone, from which the subscriber may select to direct the call, e.g., to a fax machine, or an answering service. The terminals in question may be specified by the subscriber and identified by short numbers. An SSP and an SCP may be adapted to perform the service.

Method and device in telecommunications network

Time zones are handled in a telecommunication system with personal mobility and time dependent routing, particularly in a telecommunication system such as UPT (Universal Personal Telecommunication) system. The system is arranged to calculate the time difference between a time zone which is obtained from a subscriber, particularly a time zone where a subscriber permanently or temporarily is located, and a time where the routing takes place, particularly where a node is located, and to calculate the subscriber's current time by adding the time difference to the current time where the routing takes place. The time-dependent routing may include at least one time table for at least one subscriber. The time table includes at least two time periods for each time period. At least one terminal of function is defined to which the subscriber incoming traffic is intended to be routed. Corrections for daylight saving rules may be included. Menues for handling failed call setups and menues for callback are provided.
