A plurality of modal parameters is estimated for a set of discrete locations within a local area using a set of room impulse responses for the set of discrete locations. The local area includes an audio system. A plurality of acoustic model parameters is generated by fitting the plurality of modal parameters to an acoustic model that accounts for a physical geometry of the local area. The plurality of acoustic model parameters and an indication about the acoustic model are stored for later use by the audio system. The audio system estimates the set of acoustic parameters using the plurality of acoustic model parameters and the indication about the acoustic model, and presents audio content using the set of acoustic parameters.

Determination of a composite acoustic parameter value for a headset is presented herein. A directionally enhanced audio signal is generated based on audio signals from an acoustic sensor array and a spatial signal enhancement filter that is directed for enhancement of a sound source. A SNR improvement value is determined based on a SNR value of the directionally enhanced audio signal and a SNR value of an audio signal from an acoustic sensor of the acoustic sensor array. The SNR improvement value is input into a model that maps SNR improvement values to spatial acoustic parameters to determine a spatial acoustic parameter. A temporal acoustic parameter is determined based on the audio signals. The composite acoustic parameter value is determined based on the spatial acoustic parameter and a temporal acoustic parameter value. Audio content presented to a user is adjusted based in part on the composite acoustic parameter value.

A system for determining a room impulse response of an environment is disclosed. The system includes one or more microphones configured to detect acoustic energy in an area, an input/output interface configured to connect to a network, and one or more processors coupled to a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium. The system is configured to identify a sound detected by the one or more microphones, retrieve a copy of the sound via the network, and determine a room impulse response of the area based on the sound and the copy of the sound.

Systems and methods for determining room impulse responses

An audio system for adaptively adjusting spatial sound signal enhancement filter lengths based on estimated direct-to-reverberant ratio (DRR) values. In response to detecting sound waves, sensors in a client device, such as a headset worn by a user, generate audio signals. The audio signals are analyzed to estimate the DRR values associated with the location. A value of a spatial signal enhancement filter length is obtained based on a model. The obtained spatial signal enhancement filter length is used to generate filters for filtering audio signals and generating audio content that are to be provided to an audio system of the headset for audio playback to the user.
