An adjustable, modular handicap-access-ramp system enables transport of wheelchairs and temporarily or permanently physically handicapped individuals and no-step access thereof into and out of a structure. The system comprises a plurality of core modules and at least one additional module adapted to be combined with each other and the core modules to configure a customized ramp. At least one combined locating and support pin is adapted to connect to each other those of the core and additional modules disposed adjacent to each other. At least one substantially infinitely adjustable column assembly allows movement of predetermined core and additional modules up or down and to a desired angle. At least one connector allows attachment to each other of adjacent core and additional modules that require a change in grade with respect to each other.

Adjustable, modular handicap-access-ramp system

Handle has status indicators viewable by operator while viewing location being cleaned and using handle in ordinary cleaning position, and light illuminating location being cleaned. Indicators are LED lamps. Light is an LED lamp. Microphone senses particles and illuminates an indicator. Indicators and light are provided in a housing section that forms part of a housing for handle. Housing section may be integrated with the remainder of the housing, or may be unit that fits into remainder of housing. Light has central axis generally parallel, within approximately five degrees from parallel, with cleaning axis of handle. Indicators each have a central axis generally parallel, within approximately 5 degrees from parallel, with cleaning axis of handle. The indicators have limited beam angle. Indicator viewable over grasping section of handle from towards distal end of handle. The cleaner may be a vacuum cleaner, which may be a central vacuum cleaner.

Locking clips are provided for attaching a lamp assembly in a traffic signal housing. The clips use a fixed first portion and a movable second portion. The second portion locks to the first portion or to the housing itself and retains an edge of the lamp assembly, holding it in a window of the housing. Foldable/hinged interlocking clips are provided. Other alternatives include slidable clips that engage a fixed element on the housing (e.g. a fixed pin, or a trough in the housing wall), and rotatable clips that engage a fixed element on the housing (e.g. a fixed pin, or a trough in the housing wall). The clips may be part of a retaining system or a traffic signal. Optional lower holders may also be provided. The invention also includes a method for replacing a lamp assembly in a traffic signal housing with at least one locking clip.

A cooling apparatus for such things as convenience foods and beverages has a tilted, open faced bed from which persons may select objects. The apparatus is self-contained, and may run from a standard single phase electrical outlet. It may be carried by two people, and is suitable for mounting either on its own base in a recess in a checkout counter or other similar installation. The open faced be may have a channel depth of section that is relatively deep as compared with to its width, the flow path length, or the depth of the flow released to run along the channel, thereby tending to discourage mixing of the cooled flow with the surrounding ambient environment. The apparatus may include a two piece molded housing that defines the structural skeleton for both the cooling bed and a lodgement for various elements of the cooling system. The bed may include a porous deck, or drain panels, that may tend to encourgare cooled air to drain toward a cooling plenum intake panel. The bed may include a pooling region adjacent to the air intake plenum in which cooler, less buoyant air may collect.
