There is included a method and apparatus including computer code configured to cause a processor or processors to parse a scene file to extract scene file data, send the scene file data to a converter, and translate, by the converter and based on a metadata framework, the scene file data from a first scene graph format to a second scene graph format compatible with a renderer interface, and the metadata framework comprises an organization of metadata into at least one of systems and subsystems of the systems comprising collections of information common across a plurality of scene graph formats, and the metadata is specified in an Immersive Technologies Media Format.

The master device receives a service request for a service to be performed by the local cloud, and distributes a plurality of tasks corresponding to the service to the one or more devices configured as the local cloud according to the resource availability of the one or more devices.

Method and apparatus for using local area network as service for edge cloud

Media data of a first scene graph is received. The first scene graph is created based on a first scene graph format. The first scene graph format includes a plurality of description components indicating attributes of the first scene graph. A plurality of metadata identifiers associated with the first scene graph format and a plurality of metadata identifiers associated with a second scene graph format are determined based on a lookup table. The lookup table identifies metadata identifiers associated with the first and second scene graph formats. A plurality of description components of the second scene graph format that indicates the attributes of the first scene graph is determined based on (i) the plurality of description components of the first scene graph format, (ii) the plurality of metadata identifiers associated with the first scene graph format, and (iii) the plurality of metadata identifiers associated with the second scene graph format.

A method is performed by a network node connected to one or more additional network nodes via a local area network (LAN). The network node and the one or more additional network nodes form a cloud. The method includes setting a first timer to a first value, the first timer being associated with determining whether one of the one or more additional network nodes is an active controller in the cloud. The method includes starting the first timer. The method includes determining, before the first timer expires, whether a first message that indicates the one of the one or more additional network nodes is the active controller is received. Based on determining the first message is received before the first timer expires, the method includes synchronizing with the one of the one or more additional network nodes that is the active controller, and restarting the first timer.

Method and apparatus for using nonstop controller with local area network (LAN) for local cloud

A method and an apparatus for monitoring encrypted traffic, performed by at least one processor. The method includes generating a transport summary of a media stream at a streaming source or a streaming destination using a plurality of transport layer metrics, wherein the media stream is encrypted, and wherein the transport layer metrics comprise path characteristics derived from duplicated QUIC packets in the media stream at the streaming source or a streaming destination, transferring the transport summary to a network monitor function, analyzing the transport summary and correlating it with transport summaries collected from other sources and other destinations. The transport summary may include information on duplicate QUIC packets in the media stream.

Techniques for monitoring encrypted streaming traffic using underlying transport metrics

A system and method for split rendering immersive media using proxy edge cloud computing architecture. The system and method may include dynamically determining a task-split or splitting a task for rendering a scene in an immersive media stream into two or more computational tasks based on one or more processing delays, wherein the task-splitting splits the scene into first part including one or more first tasks performed by an edge computing system and second part including one or more second tasks performed by a cloud computing system. The system and method may include transmitting the first parts of the scene, and transmitting the second parts of the scene.

Method and apparatus for split rendering for lightfield/immersive media using proxy edge cloud architecture

A system and method of split rendering for lightfield or immersive media by using an edge-cloud and peer-to-peer based architecture. The system and method include the use of a combination of cloud-based devices and edge-devices to provide distributed processing in connection with the streaming of media, and in particular lightfield or immersive media, to an end user device. The system and method further include the use of multiple cloud and edge devices to provide parallel streaming of a given media package to an end user device.

The method further includes determining, before the first timer expires, whether a first message that indicates that another network node from the one or more additional network nodes is the active controller is received. The method further includes based on determining the first message is received before the first timer expires, restarting the first timer. The method further includes, based on determining the first message is not received before the first timer expires, assigning one or more tasks to at least one network node.

Method and apparatus for using high availability controller with local area network (LAN) for local cloud

A method and a system for traffic load balancing between a multipath-capable receiver within an administrative domain and a multipath-capable sender outside of the administrative domain, performed by at least one processor. The method includes identifying available access networks receiving media streams, accepting steering rules from the administrative domain, incrementing a counter that measures the amount of media streams arriving on the available access networks during a measurement interval, adjusting a delay value based on a timer value, the total amount of media arriving on the access networks, and the steering rules. The timer value may be set to the measurement interval and the measurement interval may be provided in the steering rules. Then, the method includes the multipath-capable sender sending acknowledgments which are delayed according to the adjusted delay value.

A method performed by at least one processor included in an unmanned aerial system (UAS) includes: transmitting, to a UAS Service Supplier (USS) implemented on at least one server, a first registration request to register a first remote identification (RID) corresponding to the UAS with the USS; receiving, from the USS, an indication that the first RID is a duplicate RID that is registered with the USS; determining, based on the first RID, a second RID corresponding to the UAS; and transmitting, to the USS, a second registration request to register the second RID.

A method of managing multipath traffic switching in a network includes a plurality of shared paths, including selecting a first path from among the plurality of shared paths; setting an initial timer to an initial timer value; sending network traffic over the first path; based on determining that at least one path characteristic of the first path is unsatisfactory and that the initial timer has not expired, generating an updated timer value by increasing the initial timer value; and based on determining that the at least one path characteristic of the first path is unsatisfactory and that the initial timer has expired, selecting a second path, sending the network traffic over the second path, and setting an updated timer to the updated timer value.
