A locking pin system comprising: an actuator having an actuator body defining an axial bore along its length; a locking pin axially moveably mounted within the bore, and drive means for driving the locking pin axially along the bore between a locking position extending from the actuator body and an unlocking position relatively retracted into the actuator body; wherein the drive means comprises engagement means for releasably engaging the locking pin, the engagement means being biased to an open position where they are not in engagement with the locking pin, and wherein the bore comprises a first section having a first diameter and a second section having a second, wider diameter.

Load decouple for folding wing

A system architecture for operation of aircraft flaps. The system architecture includes a first pair of motor drive units, the first pair comprising a first motor drive unit (MD) and a second motor drive unit (MD), and a second pair of motor drive units, the second pair comprising a third motor drive unit (MD) and a fourth motor drive unit (MD). The system further includes a first plurality of switches connected between the first motor drive unit (MD) and the second motor drive unit (MD), the first plurality of switches configured to operate a first electric motor and a second electric motor, and a second plurality of switches connected between the third motor drive unit (MD) and the fourth motor drive unit (MD), the second plurality of switches configured to operate a third electric motor and a fourth electric motor.

System architecture for operation of aircraft flaps

A locking system includes a locking element which is movable between a first, locking position and a second unlocking position and an unlocking actuator for moving the locking element (from the first position to the second position over an unlocking stroke length (Su). The system further comprises a control unit configured to command the unlocking actuator to move the locking element from the first position to a third position over an anti-icing stroke length (Sa) which is shorter than the unlocking stroke length (Su).

A skew detection arrangement comprises first and second series of targets movable past respective sensors, and monitoring means operable to monitor the outputs of the sensors, wherein the monitoring means is operable upon sensing that an output of a first one of the sensors is in a transition state to determine, from a transition direction of the transition state and an output of the other of the sensors, whether a skew condition has arisen. A skew detection method is also disclosed.
