Knee-walkers allow amputees and individuals with injuries to maintain independent movement. Their stability and steering is very important. The invention comprises a knee-walker () comprising a frame (), at least two ground-engaging wheels () at the front, a seat (), a steering column (), and a steering belt () linking the steering column to the two front wheels, the two front wheels being steered by rotation of the steering column and consequent rotation of the belt.

Knee-walker

A pyrophoric material comprises a pyrophoric metal coated onto a wire mesh substrate. Iron and nickel are the preferred metals and a steel wire mesh is suitable. A process for making the pyrophoric material involves spraying an alloy of iron and/or nickel with aluminium onto a mesh using a high velocity oxy-fuel (HVOF) process following by leaching out at least a proportion of the aluminium by treatment with an alkaline solution. The product has application as a supported catalyst or as either an ignition medium or as a flare material in military countermeasures in which applications it is capable of burning at a high temperature.

Pyrophoric material

A clothing packing apparatus for folding a clothing article, such as a suit, comprising a spacing material to separate parts of the folded clothing article comprises a parts that partial overlay a fold line in the aligned sleeves and the body of an article of clothing; a slit for folding the sleeves independently; gripping surfaces to engage the clothing article; rounded/tapered edges to eliminate pressure compressions; pre-formed bands to improve folding performance; and a casing for storage and transit. The spacing material is preferably formed of foam capable of forming a continuous U-shaped curve along the fold lines and an anti-collapsible structure when folded with the clothing article.

Clothing packing apparatus and method of using

Surface-modified metal fuels, which improve the stability in storage of pyrotechnics and methods for manufacturing such fuels, are provided. Improved storage stability is conferred either by alloying the precursor metal prior to the powder production process, or by forming an enhanced stability coating on the surface of the metal powders during the powder production process.

Aluminium alloys

A sintered metal article such as a piston ring or a sealing ring (in particular those having a cross-section area not exceeding 20 mm.sup.2) having a density which is at least 88.5% of the theoretical density, having a fine machined surface finish, and having a nitrocarburized surface layer which is not found at a depth of more than about 250 microns from the surface. The invention also includes the process of manufacturing such an article.
